In the premiere episode, All the Way, Richie Cunningham (Ron Howard) goes on a date with Mary Lou Milligan (Kathy O'Dare). During the date when Mary Lou is babysitting, Richie sees a chess set in the house and offers to play. Mary Lou says you have to be smart to play chess. Richie disagrees and tries to teach her. When he explains that the object of the game is to capture the opponent's king, Mary Lou immediately reaches over and grabs Richie's king and excitedly declares victory.
After the date, Fonzie (Henry Winkler) asks Richie what he did on his date. Richie says, "We played chess." Fonzie replies, "You played with her chest?"
