-Arjun Maini, French Grandprix (2018)
~OVERVIEW~
Ah yes, the tale of Arjun Maini. A tragedy only seconded to "The Book Theif."
It's a world of pure adrenaline, pain and tragedy where dreams hurtle often towards failure. Alas, it is but the very nature of life, isn't it not? A fine example would be Arjun Maini, a young Indian racer was about to relaize the painful truth, his eyes were reflecting a burning ambition. The 2018 Formula 2® season was supposed to be his springboard, a launchpad into the stratosphere of Formula 1. But fate, it seems, had a cruel twist in store.
Arjun wasn't your average rookie. He wasn't propelled by Lance Stroll's pocket money allowance, but on the rather degree, SKILL. Every inch of progress was a hard-fought battle,A testament to dedication, leaving behind a trail of dust and the faint scent of burnt rubber, a signature of his pursuit.
The hope in his eyes was remarkable when he joined Trident Racing, but isn't hope a bad thing? His spirits were higher than Everest. But the elation was short-lived.
His teammate, Santino Ferrucci, became the antithesis of everything Arjun aspired for. It wasn't competition, it was a relentless sabotage of spirit. Ferrucci, a driver whose talent paled in comparison to Arjun's, thrived on negativity. He wasn't there to push Arjun, but to break him. The French Grand Prix became a turning point, a race etched in Arjun's memory with the searing pain of betrayal. As Arjun battled a sluggish car, his radio crackled with despair. His voice was thick with frustration and a hint of tears. But his pleas fell on deaf ears. The data later confirmed his worst fears – an underperforming engine, a handicap that would leave any driver feeling helpless. And what was worst of all, it was intentional sabotage by his own TEAMATE.

~SANTINO FERRUCCI~
In July, Ferrucci was banned from four F2 races (Hungary and Belgium rounds) and fined €60,000 after making deliberate contact with his teammate Maini after the Sprint race at Silverstone on the weekend of the British Grand Prix. He was also disqualified from the Sprint Race results at Silverstone for a separate incident when he deliberately forced Maini off the track. He was also found to have driven his car between the F2 and F1 paddock without one glove and while holding his phone, which resulted in an additional €6,000 fine. His attempt to run a "Make America Great Again" livery in support of Donald Trump was blocked by the FIA as being in violation of the political slogans policy.

~ASSAULT ON MAINI~
Ferrucci, the embodiment of this brokenness, took it a step further. On the track, his driving became a calculated assault. A reckless maneuver sent Arjun off track, a blatant disregard for both safety and sportsmanship (as displayed in Silverstone). As if the emotional blows weren't enough, the physical ones followed. A post-race collision, a deliberate act fueled by malice, left Arjun's car battered and his spirit fractured. Ferrucci, for his transgressions, was eventually penalized.
To add fuel to the fire he had cyberbullied Maini in public!
~CONCLUSION~
And so did the curtains fall (on this blog that is). What was the impact on Santino? He is remembered as a disgrace to F1 and the USA, his country and he is booted out from F1. Maini has moved on to DTM while his brother Kush Maini follows his footsteps in F2 with Invicta Virtuosi Racing.
I do realise that this is a very poor blog in terms of both quantity and quality, but I'm on a time crunch.
Farewell from the Redwood Lounge, and I bid you adieu!
