Unimprovement Journal 2: To Mediocrity and Beyond

I had a dream last night where Buzz Lightyear was chasing me in a river. This was most disconcerting, and I didn't sleep well because of it. That's obviously why I spent a whole hour on puzzles just to get 34. To mediocrity and beyond, etc.

So the puzzles didn't go as well as I wanted. Oh well. 34's not bad. On the plus side, the mistakes I'm making aren't coming from a place of complete ineptitude (I guess that's debatable), and seem very fixable. For endgame study, I continued in Lakdawala's Fundamental Endings, looking at B+K mate, Q vs. R draw/win, and R vs. K draw/win. My first game went much better than either from yesterday.
