arenas

Im sure everyone knows this. But chess.com realllly needs to do something about the arenas. Every one ive joined its almost impossible to keep up with the sandbaggers who drop their elo to under 500 and stomp out people who dont even know how to llay chess, meanwhile im either playing very tough competition i  some cases which is fine, or im playing some 1000 elo point below me whos stretchibg the game out to 50 or 60 moves.... I call cheating on that. Or if im playing say a 1600 elo person whos goof enoigh to make it a conpetitive gane and i end up with a winning posistion or a mate in 2 or something and they realize this. They just decide to run their clock down which as in my most recent arenas case was a 10 min rapid arena. They will run the entire  4 or 5 mins down off their clock just to be sore losers. I dont know what they coukd do about that other than naybe make a 2 min move clock or something. 20% of the total game clock seems reasonable to make a single move, although if their were 6 mins left theyd still be able to run their clock down by playing 1 move every 119 seconds. But they really need to make muktiple arenas at once. Say theres a 10 min rapid arena. They can just list it anf when you join your split into categories based on your elo. Like 1000 and under. 1000-1500 and then 1500+ maybe? That or they need to be banning these people sandbagging and cheating during the arenas in real time because they are ridiculous. I ended up going 6-0 in my last try at an arena but my first 2 games were extremely difficult. Then i ran into someone who was 1000 elo point below me and played better than the 1900 i squeaked a win out of. And then the guy running down 5 mins off his clock because he was a sore loser. So by the time i finished the 6th game i was 6-0 and back in like 19th place. Meanwhile number 1 was a 500 elo player who had already won 11 games. Number 2 was a 400 elo player. And 3 was a 1600. Probably the onky legit player in the top 3 so i just gave up at that point. But something really needs to be done because these arenas are a joke.

Since this verified stuff started ive seen alot of people call it a cash grab, some people think it should be included in premium memberships. I personally am on yhe side of things on chess.com have gotten expensove lately. With the premium membership price going up and then they are charging you to be verified, something that from what i can tell the main idea is you can have piece of mind that your playing fair people. My first thought was how many people are gonna get their little verified checkmark and then start, or continue cheating. Well i wont put the persons name on blast but i was looking at some of my games and there was a person i randonly got matched with a few times on a day or over the course of 2 or 3 days. We each won a game i thibk? Not the point. But i stumbled onto his profile and noticed the last player he played (in a tournament) had their account banned. So i clicked on it and sure enough verified account. And he made it to the legends league without missing a week. Now i know thats not indicitive of skill its really who has the time to play the nost games. But sure enough their out there. I find it hard to believe he had never cheated before getting his account verified. So apparently some of these people feel bulllet proof with their little checkmark. 2 things. Good to see his accoubt got closed. But chess.com has always maintained their algorithms are bullet proof, so whats the extra scrutiny they can apply to verified players. This i do not understand. But either way, what a dumb move. Wanted to win a tournament so bad you cheat after youve played thousands of games and made it tonthe legends legue etc. Now your billing info is on record your not gonna be able to open a new account( does anyone know wether or not if you get your accoubt verified if they will let you do the second chance thing?  Because that would be stupid imo. But thats all for now.
