Hi!

As well as any of you I've been wondering how my life has been, whether the life choices I've made hold up in the face of eternity, and whether or not I failed as a human being. I'm not nearly old enough for a midlife crisis (and with the overall life expectancy becoming higher and higher, the eligible age for midlife crisis also increases), but I do have a lot of questions and doubts about myself and life in general. Where do we come from? Why are we here? Where do we go when we die? What lies beyond? And what laid before? Is anything certain in life? (iykyk)

Luckily, there are ways to find this out. You don't have to consult any medical professional, join any religious organisation, or go backpacking around the world to find out who you are. There's a different solution, much cheaper, much quicker, and much, MUCH more accurate.

The chess.com app's Life Review

It's incredibly easy to use. You just open the app, go to the menu, choose the top feature, upload your picture, and let the app do the rest. And within seconds you have a cheap, quick, and very accurate life review.

So, let's have a look:

That's not really what I wanted to hear. Alright, let's try again.

Doesn't seem to cut it either. Again.

Ok. Maybe chesscom is just having a bad day. Give it another shot.

...there's no use, is there?

Well thanks chesscom! Once more?

Thanks for the gaslighting!

Ok, you asked for it.

Never? Well, bad luck, sir!

Can't you see what I'm doing? I'm trying to find some reassurance, thank you not very much!

Alright, let's try it one last time. It's got to be nice at some point, right?

Oh well...

At least I can still play chess.

The game

I was exhausted when I started the game, but I managed to plough on through and scrape a win. The material balance was nice to play with, but I'm quite sure that I hadn't played it all that well. I should certainly check this as well as my other games of this week before I start anything anew. There's too much that I should still be studying, too much terrain that I need to cover.

This is how the game went:

Unfortunately I have something important to do tomorrow so I can't get going with this now. I'll do my work when I get home.

In fashioning myself an opening repertoire, I play one rapid game per day to annotate on my blog. Weekly recaps on Sunday.
