
What's the difference between chess and checkers ??
Hi guys, what's up, my name is @shanlee132, but you can call me Shan. Today, I am really excited because I am going to discuss the difference between chess and checkers. I will give you 5 main facts about chess vs checkers.
- A game of 2 players in which each one moves 16 pieces according to fixed rules of the game across a checkerboard and tries to checkmate the opponent’s king is known as chess. On the other side, a group of strategy board games for two players that involve diagonal moves of game pieces and captures by jumping over the opponent pieces is known as checkers.
- Chess was originated in the 6th century in India, where it was named as On the other hand, Checkers was originated in 3000 BC in England and had a resemblance with Draughts (A group of strategy board games).
- There are 16 game pieces for each player in chess conversely there are 12 game pieces for each player in checkers.
- White moves first in chess on the flip side, black moves first in checkers.
- All the game pieces in chess have their own movement on the other side, all game pieces in checkers have the same movement.
