Magnus Carlsen's growth in chess was rapid and impressive, marked by several milestones. He became a grandmaster at 13, the youngest ever, and later became the youngest player to reach number one in the FIDE world rankings at 19. He achieved the world championship title in 2013 at 22, holding it for five consecutive years. Carlsen is also known for his dominance in rapid and blitz chess, holding all three FIDE titles simultaneously at different points. In 2025, he joined a professional gaming team and is known for his new approach to chess, sometimes diverging from established chess authorities.
