How to play & counter the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Attack
About the opening
This is the Tennison Gambit, or better known as the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM for short). It is an opening that sacrifices a bishop and knight for your opponents queen. The guide above tells how to play & counter it. This opening perfect for ~500-1000 rated players who want to win!
Caro-kann Variation
Since the heart of the trap is giving up the pawn on e4, it can be played against the Caro-kann. First, play normally with 1. e4 and after your opponent plays c6 (the caro-kann) you develop your knight with 2. Nf3. They will play d4. From there, it is the same set up as the demonstration, except your opponent played c6 first, which will not change anything.
Warning: If your opponent moves their queen away, DO NOT sacrifice your knight!
