My Chess Journey
So, it all began back in 2020 when I was 7 years old, I got my first chess.com account. It was awesome. I played a lot and tried to increase my chess score. So one day, my younger brother got his chess account and he was ADDICTED. Literally, when we had to go to school, he would be playing chess. That continued for a long time.
One day in 2022, my brother bribed me and challenged me to a chess game. I thought that it was a pretty good deal, but I didn't really like playing agains him since he beat me 43 times and I only 2 times (I bribed to let me win).
So we played on chess.com, and I was playing my normal moves until 5 seconds later. My brother moved a piece, and BOOM. Checkmate. That was it. I told myself That's it, I am quitting chess for life.
I stopped playing for 2 years until December of 2024, when my cousin came over from North Carolina, USA to Virginia, USA where I live. There, she started to play chess on her computer with my brother and I thought I WANT TO PLAY so I played on my chess.com account after a REALLY long time and it turned out to be pretty fun.
That is when I found out that there are "clubs" and "social stuff" on chess.com. I started doing it every single day and now I am here today.
I still am not able to beat my brother at chess (actually, I beat him once, ACTUALLY) but I still play chess.
I have joined a bunch of clubs, and even made one of my own!
It may have less players, not that many people on chat, not that many team events, but with YOUR help we can make the club a place for everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves. It is called The Axolotl Support Club!
As in the name, we support axolotls, but we also support other animals, too! You don't have to love axolotls to join, but just appreciate and respect them.
Before you leave, don't forget to comment down below your chess journey and your favorite animal.
Thats all!
