Italian Game at the world cup again
Today is day 2 of Round 5 or Round of 16.
We have another Italian opening on the board between ESIPENKO and CARLSEN.
so far so good. in my previous post, I explained how Black would like to play Be6 to exchange a pair of bishops and White should try to play d3-d4 to able to retreat the bishop.
Here's ESIPENKO-CARLSEN after move 10..c6
and in this position, Andrey Esipenko played 11.d4
Now White decided to retreat the bishop to f1, instead of d3. I do not know if it makes a difference or not. we shall see.
in the mean-time ,I've been trying this opening in blitz games.
Here's a recent game of mine
