Magnus Carlsen has been world champion since 2013.

He also has the highest FIDE rating at 2860.6 while he plays Wijk Aan Zee

I think a lot has been written on Magnus ability to squeeze a win out of equal positions, and being extremely good in technical endgames and applying positional pressure. A lot less has been said on his tactical abilities and how he calculates at the board. 

A great game he played was in Qatar 2015, which was extremely complicated.
