Christmas Blast with 'Mate-in' Studies
Christmas is here, and for the die-hard chess lover, there is no better gift than a set of challenging, beautiful, and fun chess compositions!
Here are three problems I have devised, all 'mate-in' studies, which may involve very creative and imaginative thinking.
Many times in my earlier articles I have talked about the importance of solving studies. Studies enhance three crucial aspects of your tactical ability: Visualization, Awareness and Imagination. There can be all sort of unexpected ideas, queen sacrifices, quiet moves, king walks, to name a few. You just have to broaden your horizon and think out of the box! Even more importantly, solving them correctly can give you a great sense of aesthetic pleasure!
