One of the main functions of the Chessnut EVO is using the board to play chess on the online platforms!  The board supports chess.com, Lichess, and Chess Kid.

As noted in the video, the board is a prototype and the software is still in alpha.  There were some bugs and glitches, but it is clear that the board does work with all three online platforms.  Chessnut has implemented an innovative solution using a neural processing unit (NPU) in hardware, with a machine vision system that can "read" the 2D board and piece positions on the screen.  This means that the board works with these platforms without the use of proprietary APIs and also opens up the possibility that the board will support many other online chess content and sites.

Chessnut has some further development work before the EVO is reading for retail release but it definitely appears that the fundamentals are there.
