On behalf of Team USA: Southwest, I would like to extend an invitation to you to join us in World League play. It would be both a great honor and a privilege to have you playing for us in our World League matches.

The World League is a Team Match Tournament that is the Chess.com equivalent of the World Team Championships. Each country is represented by a team, except the United States, which is represented by several regional teams (in view of its large Chess.com population).

Team USA: Southwest specifically represents the states of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Kansas, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah. Our members are typically affiliated with one or more of these nine states, but there is no formal requirement to “prove” affiliation, as long as a player does not play for more than ONE World League team in any given season. Our team is very proud to represent both the Southwest and America as a whole in the Chess.com community and we hope to prove to the world that American chess players are a force to be reckoned with!

Our primary goal is to become the World League Champions and defeat such World League “superpowers” as Russia and Germany. But to achieve this lofty goal, we need your help. We have no requirement on the number of matches you must participate in, but if you can play in one or two matches in the course of a year, we would be very grateful.

I'll have to remember to add the other states if we end up assimilating part or all of USA:SC. It seems like there will be a near-unanimous approval on our end. I think that SouthCentral will have a much closer vote.
