Wellcome chess developer If you'd like to use this group to promote any updates of your app or future chess products, please don't hesitate to contact me or another admin. One of the ideas of this group is to help developer to promote their app, find beta tester, get feedback and everything that can help to chess on ipod touch and iphone. We are happy to have you here! Thanks for making/inprove an app for our devices!!! If we can help you let us know!
I just released an update to my iOS chess database app, CBase Chess. It was the first app in the store that supported variations in PGN databases. I've rewritten it to be a universal binary and have a better user interface - I wrote up a Chess.com blog about it to summarize some of the new features. If anybody is already a user of it, or if you're looking for a PGN database reader, please download it from the app store - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cbase-chess/id386254532 If anybody has any comments about it, I'd love to hear them here. I'm roadmapping new features based on user feedback, and I think the feedback from Chess.com iPhone/iPad users is especially important.

When will we have a chess app that supports peer to peer play over bluetooth on iphone?
Selftaught103953 May 24, 2023
After the latest software up date should chess.com try and make their app part of the game center and how you are rated as well as playing against friends. OK I know that this is a lot to ask and there will be lots of reprogramming to do and working together with game center for it to work but it may be a future idea. what do you think

Well I finally made the switch to a MacBook Pro and am looking for some good chess apps. I downloaded the trial for Shredder Classic and really like it, but am not ready to shell out the cash for it. I'm looking for thoughts on best paid apps and if there are any good free apps to try until I take the plunge and throw down my hard earned money for one. The app should offer the ability to play the computer and load pgns.

Is it possible to play live tournaments on the IPad. I mean in particular to play the games in the typical board view rather than using the "browser"-board move input?
hi. i love the chess.com app on my ipad and i think you guys did a great job! but the stuck after "submitted" bug is really annoying. its like a crash. one has to reopen the app in order to be able to make another move. isnt it possible to code a little bug fix for this issue quick? it would help a lot. i also would pay for this app! conditional moves in CC and live chess integration would be great in future updates :) thanks

I can't find conditional moves option in iPhone/iPad app. Does this option exist? Thank you!

This forum post is for Chess Score Pad, an electronic chess scoresheet. It is a universal application for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Complete information can be found at chessscorepad.com. This application is not certified by the USCF for use in a tournament. Not being certified does not prohibit the tournament director for allowing it to be used to keep score of your game. I know it has been used in USCF rated tournaments that are typically small prize amounts and short time controls. I use it in my weekly G/30 quads. I have started a new application that I will submit to the USCF for certification. I am making a new app since it will need to be more restrictive and it would not be good to drastically change an existing app. For example, the new app will not have an option to have the app check for illegal moves since this is prohibited by the USCF. I hope that this forum will provide valuable feedback from other OTB chess players so we can have a certified iOS scoresheet. A good electronic scoresheet is easy to use and more accurate that using a paper scoresheet. So I believe that a lot more people will make use of their iOS devices as scoresheets if they are certified. I think that one big obstacle to certifying an iOS based electronic scoresheet is the concern that people will use the device to cheat. I am not a tournament director an I appreciate the hard work they do so we can have our tournaments, so I son’t want to make their jobs any more difficult. But I believe that if someone have a small computer (iPhone, Android or any of the many devices that can be used to analyze a game) and intend to cheat, they are more likely to conceal the small computer. Banning electronic scoresheets does not stop cheaters from bringing a device and concealing it. If players are using the small computers as scoresheets, the computers are out on the table. I will expand on this in a later post. Thanks, Roger Carey I am posting this per the “A note to all chess developers” post. “One of the ideas of this group is to help developer to promote their app, find beta tester, get feedback and everything that can help to chess on ipod touch and iphone.”
Hello! Was wondering if anyone knew of any apps that are available or are in development that can help you create (and then test you) an your own opening repertoire? Something along the lines of Chess Openings Wizard (previously Bookup) or Chess Position Trainer?? I've recently been using Chess Position Trainer to sequentially test myself on all the branches for a new opening I've prepared from other references. The computer plays a move and then you have to reply according to the next move in your opening book. You're able to set how many mistakes you get to make and how many times you have to get each variation correct before moving on to the next one. It's doing wonders for my Opening preparation (days cut to hours) but I was wondering: why can't I do this on my iPod touch? I could learn openings over morning coffee or on the go or without having to turn the computer on? Surely it would be simple to develop? Gap in the market or has something simply eluded me? B-)

I've been looking for an app that would allow me to annotate games by adding nested variations and numeric annotation glyphs (eg. !, ?, N), and also allow me to run an engine to help analyze. The best I've found so far is Giordano Vicoli's Chess_Studio. https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/chess-studio/id684224545?mt=8 It doesn't have an opening tree or keys, so it's kind of hard to search for specific positions, but it does let you search by player or ECO code.

Dear, i see people posting pictures on the forum but i do not seem to be able to do this. The chess.com bar is not available under the new safari and another browser neither. What am i missing? Thanks

If you're a Mac person (as I assume many of you are!) and you've been looking for a good database & analysis package for OS X, this is definitely worth a look...   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtBdRjtrBDU
If I take a lot of old family photos with my iPad 4, how do I put them in the cloud and hw many can I store there?
Is anyone using the chessdb iPhone app? Is it worth it? Was thinking of getting it but saw it hadn't been updated since 2010. This gave me pause. Any thoughts?
