Hello Chess Chargers, I am one of your fellow chargers and I would like to inform you of some great chances to play in individual chess.com tournament play! I am hosting two tournaments, a greater than 1550 and a less than 1550. For those interested in playing in a not terribly demanding tournament, four games max at a time at a time control of three days, I invite you all to the Chess.com Grand Prix, or Junior Grand Prix Games! Both tournaments are looking very strong, especially the Junior tournament! I currently have plenty of space in the Grand Prix (>1550) tournament since it just recently was opened for regestration, but for those whose ratings are lower, there is not much time left! I only have 35 more spots (out of 100), and at the rate at which new entries came today, there is only a couple of days left! If you are looking for a great tournament, please consider these two, I would love to have you join! Here are the links to the tournaments if you are interested in joining: Junior Grand Prix Games (less than 1550) - http://www.chess.com/tournament/-1st-chesscom-junior-grand-prix-games-lt1500 Grand Prix Games (greater than 1550) - http://www.chess.com/tournament/-1st-chesscom-grand-prix-games What are you waiting for? Let's play some chess! Check97mate

How to post a line on a board... Copy the FEN string next to the move list on the game (this is only necessary if you want the line to have a starting position as the current position of the game): Then click on the little board icon above the comment box: Select the second option, "Game or sequence of moves," click "Continue," select the second option to input an FEN string and paste the FEN string that you copied before: Click "Continue," then "Enter Moves." Enter your moves, and insert the board into your comment! It's as simple as that! There are other features and options that you can explore to make it fancy, but it's not necessary and you can just ignore the other stuff if you want. But if you're like me...you'll probably enjoy exploring it a bit. :)

Hello everyone. First of all, I would like to thank you for inviting me to the group. As a beginner / intermediate player, I have been trying to improve but I have no clue how to do so. People say that I need to analyze my own games but thing is I have no idea how to do that. I think I know the basics and fundamentals of chess, but I think I need help / guide on tactics (not the one on here) / strategy. I am not looking for an easy way to start beating people but actually to improve myself. Any help would be appreciated. As it is nearing 1 am in Canada, I think I will go to sleep. Good night!

We play vote chess games and team matches. When a new one starts, chess.com will send you a message. In the message will be a button that will take you to the page where you can sign up. Vote chess games are games that we play as a team against another team. We all discuss our moves and then vote on the move we think is best. The move that gets the most votes is the move our team plays. Team matches are set up so that each person who signs up plays separate games (that are like regular online games) against someone from the other team. Each win counts as a point for our team and each loss counts as a point for the opponents. To get to the vote chess games: On the right hand side of our group home page, there is a menu. Click on the "Vote Chess" tab: There, it has a list of the current games as well as the completed games. You can go on either of the current games: And from there, you can click on the button to join our side and play in the game: Beneath the board, is where our team can comment about each move. And when you want to vote, the "Vote" button is right where the regular "Submit Move" button would be on a regular online game.

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of entering us in a team match tournament. It's small and looks perfect for a team like us. There will be one match at a time with 4 players rated 1700-2150. What does everyone think? Does it sound like something you would like? Let me know who all would be interested! :) Elizabeth

From now on, I will be posting all of the daily puzzles in this forum topic. If you like them, just track this forum topic to be notified when the next puzzle is out! I just don't want to keep bothering the people who don't want to do the puzzles. If anyone has puzzle suggestions, feel free to message me your suggestion and I'll do my best to post it! It can be from your own games or just something that you thought was interesting.

I'm going to be gone for four days hiking the Appalachian Trail, and will be unable to get online to do daily puzzles, vote chess, or anything related to this group.

Hey everyone! We're playing a very strong team in a team match, PHILIPPINES' FINEST chess club. They are ranked #7 on chess.com for team matches. Here is the link to the match. Please join if you can and lets beat this team! Thanks

Hey all, If you have time, please consider joining one or both of our open team matches. You will be playing 1 game at a time at 3 days per move, so it shouldn't take up to much of your time. On this match, we are outranked pretty badly on the lower boards. Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated. On this match, we are fairly equally ranked, but they have more players than us. More players on our team can only be good. I'm going to lock our team in tomorrow on this match. Thanks for your time!

Hi everyone, I was banned for a couple days for inviting members by posting notes. I didn't know that I was doing anything against the rules so I contacted Support and told them what happened, and they let me back on! :) They told me "sending several messages or notes, or even any note or message with a hyperlink in it, can cause basic members to get their account closed by the spam filter." So basic members, you don't want to do this! :) Elizabeth
