Okay guys, I've Just used my Godly powers to set up a vote chess match (7 days a move, we play white) against some random team of medals or whatever. I've also created an open seek for a vote game (us=Black) with a 3 day time control. I'll boot anyone from the group who doesn't participate (okay, I wont do that, but the entire point of it is that we work as a team.) Also, It is possible for me to set up a chess game from a particular postion....so if there is a sufficient demand, we can set up a kings Gambit (or whatever) seek and chose to play ethier side of it. (which, hint hint, might be a fantastic way of learning your favorite kind of openings).... (feel free to post a suggestion) Anyway...I hereby crown this thread the offical.tv vote chess thread. Discuss all matters concerning '.tv' vote chess here (other than the actual moves in the games) ...

[Quoting myself from the ChessVideos.tv forum] For the ChessVideos.tv group here I enabled Group Matches and Group Vote Chess. Group Vote Chess is like the matches occasionally taking place on the ChessVideos.tv forums, like the CV.tv vs. CV.tv Team Game. One group challenges another group to a game, and all players can vote for (and discuss) the next move their group should make. The move with the most votes will eventually be played. Group Matches are a little different. They are like over the board Team matches: Every group makes a team of, say, 10 players, and the players are ordered by their ratings. Then the first board of team 1 plays the first board of team 2 in two games, the second board of team 1 plays the second board of team 2 in two games, etc., and board 10 of team 1 plays two games against board 10 of team 2. Finally, the results of all boards are added together to get the final result of the match. So, is anyone interested in participating in either of the two game types? And if so, any requests for the details of the match? (time/move, initial starting position, opposing team, players per team) Just reply here if you are interested. If there are enough positive replies (4 would already be enough) I'll set up a Vote Chess Game or a Team Match.

If you would join, post here so we can know if there is any interest in the idea.  Also, give a suggestion for a time control.  I was thinking 3days/move.

Maybe you heard about it, but there's a new feature on Chess.com that allows groups to play Vote Chess matches against other groups. So for example the CV.tv group could play a match against the Chess.com Fans group. Kind of like the match CV.tv vs. Cumnor Chess Club played earlier on the CV.tv forums.   So, does anyone feel for a Vote Chess game with another group? And if so, with which group?   Also, if the Cumnor Chess Club wants a rematch, maybe they can create a group here so the rematch can take place on Chess.com.

Hi everyone.  I hope this is not turning into a spamfest about my tournaments, but I am new to this and trying to learn the best way to publicize my upcoming tournaments.  Goose told me that he could not find links to one of them and it gave me the idea to post here instead of in the Notes section of the Group. (Thanks Goose) Here are the links to my tournaments... http://www.chess.com/tournament/french-defense-advance-variation and the other http://www.chess.com/tournament/learn-the-benko.  I hope you can find them if you are interested in joining and again, sorry if this is getting to verge on spam.  I will not be posting about them again.  If you have any questions, please send me a message.  Thanks to the CVTV family for your understanding.

Let's post a topic here as well The Russian Superfinals is taking place right now! 12 players, 11 rounds, everyone plays everyone once. Right now 9 rounds have finished and round 10 is underway. After a slow start of 0.5/2, Morozevich scored 6 wins in a row(!), including wins against Svidler, Grischuk, and the current number two Tomashevsky. In round 9 he finally lost again, but his score of 6.5/9 is still enough to lead the field. The current standings: 1. Morozevich - 6.5/92. Tomashevsky - 6.0 3. Grischuk - 5.5 4. Dreev - 5.05-6. Jakovenko, Inarkiev - 4.57-10. Svidler, Amonatov, Vitiugov, Rychagov - 4.011. Sakaev - 3.512. Timofeev - 2.5 Live games can be found at http://www.aeroflotchess.com/online/ and longer reports and analysis of the played games can be found at either ChessBase or ChessVibes. Below is Morozevich's black win against Svidler:
