I've been looking at the DGT e-board along with the wooden pieces for some time now. I currently have a nice Drueke wooden set I bought many years ago. My question is what more do I get by purchasing the DGT setup? From what I see watching the demos there wouldn't be much difference between using my current wooden board and the e-board. I play on Chess.com for all my games (3-day). I'm not trying to be negative here. I really want one but they're not cheap, at least for me, so I'm looking for some additional advice from folks who already own one. Thanks

If the board is out of sync and one makes a move on the board, chess.com accepts the board move (if a possible move for the actual position). But that is a problem, as in this situation, one has not the correct position on the board. It is better not to accept the board move when the position is out of sync and play an error sound. Example:White plays with the DGT board. White move White plays move Nf3 on the board. The browser takes the move. Black move The browser speaks Black move e5. One does not listen properly and makes the Black move d5 instead of e5 on the board. White move White plays move g3 on the board. The browser takes the move but should ignore it, as the position is not in sync. Black move The browser speaks Black move e4 (attacking the knight). One does not listen properly and makes the Black move d4 instead of e4 on the board. White move White does not realize that the black pawn is actually on e4, attacking the knight. So White plays move Bg2 on the board. The browser takes the move but should ignore it, as the position is not in sync. Black move The browser speaks Black move exf3. Now, the White player only realizes that he misplayed the opponent's moves on the board, but the knight and the game are already gone. The game played is 1. Nf3 e5 2. g3 e4 3. Bg2 exf3, but White only realizes when too late.

The voice extension only works if the setting for the piece notation is text. When set to figurines, which is the default, it does not work. Numerous users run into this problem. Please remove this requirement to use the voice extension. It only causes problems and seems unnecessary.

I have made the following bug report/suggestion to both DGT and to chess.com. I'm uncertain if this will get anyone's attention, but I suspect that it will get more attention if more people see these issues and voice similar concerns. If you see these issues and would like to see them fixed, please feel free to make similar requests. Chess.com will sometimes record inaccurate captures when using a DGT e-board. I believe this happens when I make a move before Chess.com has seen the update for my opponent’s last move from the board. For example, my opponent moved h3. I moved Bc6, but chess.com recorded Bxh3 immediately after I lifted the bishop from c8, and before I placed it down on the board. I believe chess.com knew there was a pawn on h3 because my opponent moved it there, but the update from my board somehow didn’t include the pawn on h3 yet, so as soon as I lifted the bishop it though I must have captured the pawn on h3. Also, I sometimes make my opponent’s moves inaccurately on the board. When this happens, chess.com carries on as if I had made the move correctly. It would be much better if chess.com would make a buzz sound to indicate I have made an error when it receives my update inaccurately. In either of the above, I suspect all problems would be solved by requiring chess.com to receive updates from my board showing the moves my opponent makes recorded from the board before allowing my subsequent move to be recorded and issuing a buzz if any illegal, inaccurate, or if my move has been made before my opponent’s move as been recorded correctly. Is there anything I can do to help facilitate these changes?

I find this information necessary for online play with the board and want it to share, so others can also benefit and add their comments. What happened to me was the following. I wanted to perform black king-side castle. In a quick movement, I lifted the black king from e8 and put it down on g8 Immediately afterwards, I lifted the rook and put it down on f8 The system registered this as rook move only, Rg8 I could reproduce this. When performing the castling by lifting and putting down the pieces, in Blitz play speed, it did not work. The workaround is as below. Lift the black king from e8 and put it down on g8 Wait until the system registers the king move as castle move, so announces the castle move Only after the castle move announcement by the voice extension, move the rook Is this clear? Have others experienced similar or other problems with castling? The other problem is when sliding the king, and sliding is not fast enough. Then this is registered as a king one square move. This problem is nothing new, for sliding must be down with swift movements.
Now, when I make the opponent move on the DGT board, there is no audio sound indicating correct action. Playing an audio sound confirming that this was correct is important, for playing without using the screen. Now when the screen displays the opponent move, it states, "DGT: Connected. Please make the moves to sync the board." After I make the opponent move successfully on the board, the screen states, "DGT: Connected. Your turn." When the screen indicates the successful move replay with "DGT: Connected. Your turn.", playing a sound for confirmation would be great. Ideally, in the user settings, one could toggle playing the sound. Just below the option to activate the DGT board, with an option like "DGT Smart Board - board sync sound". Several users have already mentioned that such a feature is important. Please comment.

Hello together Is there any chance to use the chess.com app together with an Android tablet and DGT-Board?

Hello mates I recently bought my DGT board. Right now I'm using it with a emulation on Mac through windows 10. Ok, it works great in Windows. In Mac I notice a lot of latency. Is there a way to fix that? Just contacted DGT Support, and they suggested to uninstall end install again. It doesn't work, I suppose. Any suggestion?

Hi all, I succeeded in connecting my DGT Smartboard to chess.com. Unfortunately, sometimes moves do not get well to chess.com castling often only moves the King a piece is dropped on the wrong field Do you encounter similar errors? Thanks
Hi everyone! I could not find a way to pre-select my color to play when using the DGT board. The board as a physical entity has an orientation and at least I find it a pain to have to move it 180 degrees at the start of a new match. Is there a way unbeknownst to me that can set the color I would play when creating a challenge or joining one? If not, is it a worthwhile feature for us to collectively request from Chess.com? Thanks in advance for your input!
Just wondering if chesskid is supported? Or if there is plan to support it in future (hopefully not far)? Thanks
Dear colleagues, Does anybody has any experience of using Revelation II for playing here on the Chess.com? At the moment my LiveChess cannot see the board neither in the main mode nor in the Bluetooth chess board mode. I use MacOS. Bluetooth connection seems to be iOK, but the LiveChess e-boards list is empty. Thank you in advance, Andrejs.
Hi there, I am very interested in using a DGT baord to play online but have a few questions if you will indulge me. 1. What equipment is needed at a minimum? Just the board and pieces? Do I need one of the DGT clocks also? 2. What happens if I make the wrong opponent move, for example I move the wrong pawn or something. Is there any alert or similar? 3. Do I need any additional software ( I run Windows 10) 4. I understand there is a Chrome extention to announce the opponent moves. Is that the only option? Were I to get a DGT Pi does that display the opponent move?
