Sorry about the gray areas, that couldn't be colored. Made by Windows-7.
I. General Group Rules:
Key:
Blue = Not for this warning system/Different punishment or reward types given
Light Blue = No warnings possible
Green = Probation possible
Yellow = Level 1 warning possible
Orange = Level 2 warning possible
Red = Level 3 warning possible
Black = Level 4 warning possible = Banned from group
1. Forums, Notes, and General Rules:
Bad Language: Do not post anything as bad as or worse than the S-word.
Offensive Language: If language used offends you more than the S-word would, the person that used the language may recieve a Level 2 warning.
Admin Rule: You must earn being an admin in our group. "HOW can I become an admin" is OK, "CAN I become an admin" is not.
After joining, please do not quit unless you've told a super admin why.
You may post any constructive topic in the thread. If you want to make a thread NOT related to chess, putting “Just for fun” in the title is helpful. New: Spam is frowned upon but you can't get warned for it.
It is considered forum etiquette to avoid bumping threads. In other words, don't make posts in threads on pages 2 or older to put them back on page 1. However, it is impossible to bump a sticky thread such as Count to 1000, and if the post is very constructive, it is still OK. You cannot get a warning for just bumping a few threads, however, people may tell you to "stop bumping" or something like that.
It is not OK to intentionally make very pointless posts (such as the word "bump") on many threads just to put them back on page one. This is mass-bumping and destroys the purpose of the thread.
WARNING: BLACK RULE! Immediate ban for violation - NO PLAGIARISM OF COPYRIGHTED WORK ALLOWED without giving credit to the original work. New: Exception: Wikipedia
2. Team Matches:
These settings are not good for our group:
Matches that pair our group with another group with MUCH better players.
Matches that have offensive (more than the s-word) titles.
Don't resign in team mach games when you are not already losing. You should only resign when you are more than a knight down in material.
3. Vote Chess
These settings are not good for our group:
Games with less than one day on the clock. Exception: Organized blitz games in which the admins have agreed on. These must be direct challenges to other groups that agree for a blitz game such as the Fast Players Group or Rapid Chess.
Games with offensive names.
New: More than 75 games at once.
Blunder catching. If you see a blunder in the popular or next-to-popular vote, don't just leave it - tell others! Do everything you can to prove to others that it is a blunder. This has happened once, and we did turn things around before it was too late! - Reward for successful catch is a "Vote Chess Teamwork" trophy.
In Admins vs. Members vote chess games, or in any vote chess game, it is not OK to try to find secrets from the other side. This is cheating.
Don't vote to resighn - we are not a group to give up quickly. (Note to admins: This rule was lowered from a P level rule to a 0 Level Rule.)

A Level 4 violation results in a ban from the group.
NOTICE: (This is a Level 4 Violation) You have violated the following rules:
(Violated Rule(s))
You have been banned from Funtastic Chessmates! If you feel you have been banned unfairly, please message BigOto or Windows-7_ with your reason, and a super admin will post it in the courtroom (see below). We will re-invite you if we accept that we made a mistake.
Point system: Every time you get a warning, a number of warning points, depending on the warning level, is added. Points, unlike warnings, are added up together even if you got two different warnings for different things. 6 points within one month equals a ban.
Warning system written by Windows-7_ and edited by BigOto
7. Courtroom:
Windows-7_ has made a courtroom for us to use to discuss a rule violation. If you are caught violating a rule (please try not to let that happen), and think you got an unfair warning, you may post it for discussion in the courtroom. I will recieve an alert whenever somebody posts in the courtroom. The group can discuss the offense, and the super admins will make a final decision. If somebody messages a super admin saying that they got an unfair warning or ban, it will be posted in the courtroom.
You may get a reply that looks something like this:"Your rule violation has been posted in the Courtroom to be discussed."
WARNING: Please be nice if you think you got an unfair warning. Be polite with your message. If I recieve a message "AHHHH! WHY DID YOU GIVE ME A WARNING FOR THAT!?!?!? TAKE IT OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!" I will NOT post it in the courtroom and the warning WILL stay.
If you think you got an unfair warning, you can just post a case in the courtroom yourself.
If I post "No more comments" in the courtroom, a decision has been made. Please don't post anything that is not a real case you want to debate.
II. Bughouse Chess
Bughouse is a chess variant played on two chessboards by four players in teams of two. Each team member faces one opponent of the other team. Partners sit next to each other and one player has black, while the other has white. Each player plays the opponent as in a standard chess game, with the exception of the rules specified below.
Captured pieces
A player capturing a piece immediately passes that piece to the partner. The partner keeps these pieces in reserve and may, instead of playing a regular move, place one of these pieces on the board (as in shogi and crazyhouse). Pieces in reserve or on deck may be placed on any vacant square, including squares where the piece delivers check or checkmate. However pawns may not be dropped on the first and last rank. Dropped pawns may promote, but all promoted pawns convert back to pawns when captured. In play over the board, a promoted pawn can be put on its side to indicate promotion. A pawn placed on the second rank may move two squares on its first move. Each player must keep the reserve or stock pieces on the table in front of the board, always visible to all players of the game.
Clock and completion of a move
Bughouse chess is usually played with chess clocks to prevent players from waiting indefinitely for a piece. Clocks are placed on the outside so that each player can see both clocks. At the start of the game, the players with the black pieces start the clocks simultaneously. Bughouse is usually played using clock move, which allows touching of pieces. A move is completed only when the clock is pressed. Touch move is practiced to a lesser extent. When used, it applies to pieces in reserve as well; they are considered dropped after contact has been made with an empty square.
Bughouse can be played without a clock, but then there is usually a rule preventing a player waiting for pieces (stalling or sitting) indefinitely. One rule states that players may not delay their move beyond the time that it takes for their partner to make three moves.
End of the game
The match ends when either of the games on the two boards ends. A game is won when one player gets checkmated, resigns, forfeits on time or when an illegal move is made in which the offending side is caught. The match can be drawn by agreement or when two players run out of time or are checkmated simultaneously. Depending on (local) rules threefold repetition applies, in which case the reserve of pieces is not taken into account.
Alternatively, when one board finishes, play can continue on the other board. In this case, pieces in reserve can still be dropped, but no new pieces are coming in. The outcome of the match is then decided by adding the score of the two boards.
Communication
Partners are normally allowed to talk to each other during the game. They can for instance ask for a specific piece, for more trades, ask to hold a piece, suggest moves or ask their partner to stall. Shouts like "Gimme a knight, it mates!" or "Queen at any cost!" are common, and can lead to seemingly absurd sacrificial captures on the other board. It is however not allowed to physically act on the other board.[7]
These rules are from Wikipedia.
Bughouse chess is played in the forums.
III. Count to 1000
Count to 1000 is a game that was created from the idea of Count to 100, where each post is a number, all the way to 100, without a single messup.
Where did I get the idea of Count to 100?
Count to 100 is an idea I took from a website called "My Ninja Kiwi." If you have ever played Bloons, which is an online game, you may have seen this website. It has a very active forum, and somebody started a popular thread called "count to 100." There are many more mess-ups on this un-reliable and unpredictable page, but that is probably because we have much more organized people on Chess.com.
The thread has been recently deleted.
The Rules:
This game is simple enough - all you have to do is post one number on each comment all the way to 1000. We will have a checkpoint at every 100. If anyone posts twice in a row or messes up we go back to the last checkpoint. If someone purposely tries messing up the counting we will not restart.
Example 1: (INCORRECT)
BigOto: 1 BigOto: 2
*BigOto double posted, we have to restart. (You may post again after somebody else posts a number)* ------------------- Example 2: (INCORRECT)BigOto: 1 Lina26: 1 Chess_Knight_378: 3
*Lina26 messed up and skipped 2. Back to last checkpoint.*--------------- Example 3: (CORRECT)
Chess_Knight_378: 1 BigOto: 2 Chess_Knight_378: 3 Lina26: 4
This is played in the forums.
IV. 3-Word Game
The three word game is a game where I will start the first paragraph of a story going, and you will add three words on for each of your comments. There is no "THE END" - the story just keeps going on and on until people lose interest.
Rules:
No more than 3 words are allowed per comment.
You may not post more than one comment in a row, like in our Count to 1000.
Cheater comments will not be listened to.
This is played in the forums.
V. Quiz Puzzles
Rules of the chess quiz puzzles:
I, or another super admin, will post a new question every day. There can be multiple questions in a day if the other super admins want to post questions.
Puzzles can be worth from 1 point to 30 points.
The first person to post a correct answer wins the points for the question. We will score the points in a seperate forum.
Nobody else can win points after the first answer, but you can still talk about the puzzle in the comment area below.
The puzzle could be a chess puzzle, a question about the history of chess, or a more fun bonus question (Bonus questions are the type of question you can't just look up on the internet - something more interactive is required).
