Hi there, as most of you know that my name is Kelvin. Welcome to the midgame analysis. That all there to it, just us discussing about the middlegame. Is not like using a puzzle, we will be using a still diagram from somebody's game. Everyone here will have a turn posting one of their game and from a master game and then we can discuss what is the best way to go from there and how the game could turn out. Interesting !? Just a small rules here, keep the diagram small and if you can post the moves leading upto the position,we cannot post any on-going games, get permission from your opponent to see if is it ok to post their games and remember we are here to have fun.
"Under Construction" but you can say something if you wish.Just don't know where to put it so I thought this is the best place to do it here.
The Bishop's Opening. 1.e4 e5 2. Bc4tonydal- " It fun", ADK-" It dangerous"
note: 1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Nf6 3.d3 Nc6 4.Nf3 and 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.d3 leading to the Modern Bishop's Opening.
As more and more KP players become frustracted b the diminishing returns of allowing the Petroff, the Bishop Opening is bound to gain in popularity. Modern treatment steers the game into channels closely akin to the Giuoco Pianissimo or the Two Knights. Black has several paths to equality but present tastes prefer the latent possibilities of this system to the static formations arising from the Petroff. -BCO Kasparov and Keene
Here the link for the tournament 'click here' rated between 1600-2000, 3 days move. I won 6 games to 3, still got one game and is on going. Won 2 games with white and 4 with black. So far 15 games won with white and 14 with black. Congratulation to groo winner of this tournament.

Hi, time to wake the dead ! here is my game against JimmyNZfirst of all when do you think that the opening stage has finish and when did the endgame has started on this game ?
Here as you can see white is threatening fxe4 and Qb8+ but is black to move and found a way to win (in a few moves) what was it ?
and I will tell you who was playing and when later
I've decided to post a great game from the votechess between the Chess Team iternational (CTI) and the Indian Marauders (IM). I was with the CTI in which darius has created with which we got a great team there.
I will invite both team members to join for the discussion and commentry.
First I will post the the game here, and then we can discuss it. We started of with the Smith-Morra Gambit from the Sicilian.
1.e4 c5 2.d4 cxd4 3.c3 Smith-Morra Gambit, the idea is to obtain advantage in developing by sacrificing a pawn. Black here can either accept it 3...bxc3 or declined it 3...d3

This a nice attack from a game a played. The first problem is how to finish off the opponent whhen he plays like my opponent did. The second is how to sustain the advantage when white plays much better moves. The key is to find a way to exploit the far superior coordination of blacks pieces and then find the most forceful move.
The goal in the first puzzle is to reach a position where black will have a very easy win. The goal in the second puzzle is to reach a won endgame.
Here I am gonna start a game with Mikhail Botvinnik vs Mikhail Tal.What I am gonna do is try to analyse the game and try to predict it next move. You are welcome make a comment here and see what will happen next. Now I don't know the game I have no idea what happen. Please don't try and find the game it will spoil it. The opening is the English Opening: Anglo-Indian Defense, Hedgehog System.if 3.e4 is lead to Flohr-Mikenas Attack.
1.c4 Nf6 2.Nc3 e6 3.d4
I think 3....d5 4.e3
Hi, with ADK's permission, we have an ongoing game. So that we can have a discussion on what were we thinking and my ideas etc. but we only go up to 4 or 5 move before the current move.
We started with 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 I was hoping for a Ruy Lopez, my fav. 3.d4 but is was the Scotch gambit and is continue 3....exd4 4.Nxd4 Bc5 5.Be3 Qf6 6.c3
I am doing this for yoff
Been far too long before I got around to this. This is a game where I got into troubles in the opening which translated into a difficult position in the midgame:
I have decided to post some puzzle for you guys (I'll post them every now and then, just something to do)
Now, White in a few moves forced black to resign. I am not gonna tell you how many moves, please do not post the answer but you can say how easy/med/hard it was and how long did it take you to solve it ?I will give the answer in a couple of days and who played it. Enjoy.
Here is the link to ilikesforrests's forum about how many peoples have many different way of thinking during the game.

This is a nice middlegame with lots of positions to analyze. I've annotaded it.
This was played OTB with time limits 2 hours for 40 moves and 1 hour for the rest of the game.
Hello everyone. I'll start off with a nice middlegame win. I'll post the moves up to the critical position. Feel free to share your thoughts on earlier moves as well. Quite alot of tactics to analyze on those too.
