Hey everybody, I recently picked up playing Chess this past month, I live in lower Manhattan and was curious if there are any local places to play during the week in person. As a new player, I feel like online chess has been a fun place to learn and improve, but I feel like there is a social aspect missing from the experience. Hi Team! I'd like to nominate myself as superadmin to reboot this club. The current SA hasn't been online in 4 years. I'm a resident of Brooklyn and also an admin of several other clubs including Team New York, which I also sucessfully rebooted. Team NY is now actively competing in the USTCL tournaments and was even promoted to division 2. Please post your comments in support or against. I would look for an appropriate city league we could potentially join and in the meantime set up some matches to get warmed up. Thank you for your consideration! Joong

Hi I recently moved here to Manhatten. Are there any places to play 960? Kinda sick of playing on-line. And if there is not any places, would anyone be interested in putting something together? We can just meet and play a few games or start a weekly thing or whatever. Doesn't matter. I'll travel anywhere in Manhatten.

Hey everyone, A group of us are starting a league divided amongst fans of various NFL teams. I started a team for the New York Giants called "THE BIG BLUE WRECKING CREW" and would love to have some good New York City players help represent us!

I know our group is still small but I come on at least once a day so could keep tabs on it. Would be a good way to have a bit of activity going here.
