Elections will be carried out every 3 years from ______ to _____ and presidential candidates for parties will be decided on for the whole year beforehand. Elections will take place as follows: A presidential candidate will run under the name of a party he/she can make up. He/she can chose anyone from the whole club to be his/her vice president but the nominated person must agree to it before the presidential candidate can run you must have a selected vice presidential candidate to run It would be appreciated if you didn't chose childish party names though that is allowed You can run under the same party name as another candidate if you wish to Once you have selected a running mate you simply have to message the admin who made the candidate list forum for that year (a forum maker will be selected by the president beforehand) and tell him/her which party you're running under and who your running mate is. Make sure you are messaging the person who created the forum and not just some other admin

(This was written under the Osprey12 Administration) Welcome to the Political Debates League! This club was founded on December 5, 2020 and quickly gained members with the average IQ level of x = constantly approaching 0. This forum topic is the only topic left alive as an example of the original forums: L. And yes that is the original forum title. Just "L". Somehow though, the previous normal president, president Leon, gave Osprey12 the presidency. Soon after that Leon left but soon after his departure president Osprey12 decided to make the club into a real thing, not just a club full of idiots. The current symbol was designed by him. All original forums were destroyed and inactive members were removed. The Admin PDL club was then created for admins, the president and vice president to discuss potential rules and other elements of the base PDL club. Now the Political Debates League is run similar the US government. Every 3 years a new president will be voted into office along with his/her vice president who brings with him his own choice of admins. We hope to grow this club to reach to the same extent as the Ideas Room and Open Discussion clubs currently on chess.com. This club was remade to stand for free speech and the fundamental rights spelled out in the declaration of independence. Please discuss any topic you would like! No posting of mature content. mature content is defined as pornographic photos or soft pornographic material. punishments for defying this rule span from being muted to being banned from the club depending on what the admins decide. Exceptions to this rule include news stories that include talk of sexual organs or *necessary descriptions in forums about abortion or rape etc. 2. Members who have not been online for from half a year to a year will be kicked out of the club. Exceptions include if the member in question previously stated he/she would be back online within a year. (this exception only spans for the space of a year. After a year the admins will decide on kicking the member out.) 3. (for admins) No dealing out of punishment without consulting the rest of the admins. this also includes locking forums and deleting somebody else's posts. exceptions include locking information topics like this rule forum as well as exceptions mentioned in rule 5. punishments for defying this rule span from being demoted to member status to being banned from the club depending on what the admins decide. The Admin in question will be allowed to remain in the admin club until the admins vote on the severity of the action. The Admin in question will not vote but will be able to have a say in the debate over punishment. 4. No members of the government can carry out a change to the club or club rules without a majority in the Admins Club 5. How to carry out an amendment to the PDL rules: For an admin to amend a bill he/she must first get it passed the Admins club with at least a 2/3 majority. All Admins must vote. After this the amendment goes to the general public. If the amendment passes the Admins a forum will be made by an admin selected by the president (just to avoid confusion such as who is making the forum. We don't want 3 forums on the same amendment) Public voting will commence immediately after a club news announcement has been made about it by the president. Voting will last from a week to a month depending on how fast all who want to vote get it done. To extend the public voting time a club member must make a separate forum and voting will commence. For the sake of time this voting process will be limited to a week. Voting time can be extended for up to 2 months. Admins may not vote in public amendment forums If there is a tie in the public vote then the vice president can act as a tie breaker. All amendment forum comments not related to the topic at hand will be deleted. Discussions about the amendment are permitted. this does act as an exception to rule 3 6. Certain forms of swearing are outlawed Words such as the "F word", "S word", "N" word (just because we're not trying to be jerks), etc. are not permitted punishments will likely be a short term mute from 1-5 days depending on what the admins vote on. DONT WORRY this does NOT include words such as "piss" and "damn"! 7. Be respectful in debate This one isn't so severe. Just be respectful of others Note: Please don't report things that are simple bombings of viewpoints. This rule is not to make offending somebody in some small way illegal. Just keep it clean if you know what I mean 8. (Most important) Have fun debating! *Note: If content is found that includes violation of these rules or an attempt at reaching an exception to these rules, the content will be sent to the PDL admin club for examination of the content.
