This post may be revised in the future, but since we have a small group right now it shouldn't be unmanageable. Tell us a little bit about yourself, here are a few suggestions if you don't know where to start: -Your history in Santa Barbara -Your chess experience and involvement -Anything interesting you want to share -What kind of players you're looking to meet, if any Try to keep things clean, you never know who might end up reading this! Constitution See related post. Officers / Admin To hold an "official" position with the club, you must be a signed SBCC student. If you wish to at any time "unofficially" volunteer your time and services to help organize events, you're welcome to do so. Looking for two officers at the very least, not sure on any title or position yet, but just to help coordinate reservations with the school, etc.

So group meetings arent going to well, but I know some of you want to meet and play some games in person. I suggest we try and work together to see who in the group is livin near who, and get some games going. If just a few of us can start doing this I think this summer could be a greet time to start group meeting in larger numbers again or at least by fall, and if not at least we can try and represent the non existant chess comminity in Santa Barbara... Bottom Line baby steps So post where you'er livin around, when you can play, maybe a cool place to play so some of us can try and meet up some time.
Hello all, I will be starting the match agaist Guatechess pretty soon we still need 4 or 5 players please join the match as soon as posible. Thank you. this is the link http://www.chess.com/groups/team_match.html?id=59640
Hello everyone. The SBCC Chess Club has been very passive for the last months. I know the administrators have tried to get some meeting going but it wasn’t possible. Santa Barbara needs a Real Chess club there is none at the moment. At least none that I know of so I want to start things going and I was wondering who would be interested in participating on an online tournament? Please let me know by replying to this post. Thank you very much.
Hello guys, I was wondering if we could start a couple of tournaments. May be one here at chess.com, and another one at the SBCC campus. I will help you organize it if you need me to. Please let me know thank you.
Hello guys, I was wondering if we are going to be meeting at SBCC to play. Please let me know. thank you.
Hello Everyone. I think we should have more games agaist some other groups. Those games are fun.
As you all know, we have not had a club meet in quite a while due to Marshall's absence. We do have a new club member - Burke - who will be helping me get the club back on its feet. As a result, we would like to have a club meet on Sunday 9/19 to play a bit of chess and discuss the future of the club and meeting times and places (but mostly just play chess). We will meet on the patio at CC as usual. Ideally we will meet at about 2pm, however if that time does not work for you let me know and I will see if we can schedule a time that will work for everyone. I hope you can all make it! -Leif
From now until the end of June, our schedule will be in flux. Sundays will likely continue, Mondays are out, and I'll be gone until the 16th or so. Club meetings should still continue, and everyone should try to attend tomorrow (Sunday the 30th) at Borders on State street, around 2:30-3:00pm. We'll have 5 tournament style boards, and six cheap clocks. Bring your own gear if you want, but that should be enough for everyone.
