We are excited to announce that Southern Arizona Chess is participating in the Chess.com Clubs League! Clubs from all over the world will compete with each other over a series of 8 matches. The League has been divided into 2 divisions- A and B. Clubs with a larger amount of members are placed in division A and clubs with fewer members are placed in division B. Details about the league are posted below and here: https://www.chess.com/news/view/clubs-league-rules-and-format-1 Southern Arizona Chess plans on participating in Division A and will need to field a team of at least 10 players each week (there can be more than 10). The league will have weekly matches on eight (8) consecutive Saturdays – May 23, May 30, June 6, June 13, June 20, June 27, July 4, and July 11. You do not need to participate in each match. The first match is this Saturday, May 23rd at 10 am pacific. Please reply to this post if you are available to play this Saturday! You can find the details below: Chess.com’s Clubs League 2020 season will be from Saturday, May 23 (first match) through Saturday, July 11 (final match). The league will have weekly matches on eight (8) consecutive Saturdays – May 23, May 30, June 6, June 13, June 20, June 27, July 4, and July 11. The matches will be played at 10:00 am Pacific Time. Players may only compete for one club in a season.  Each player will play 2 games against the same opponent (white/black). The time control is 15 minutes plus 2 second increment.
