- These are the 6 lines given for the Advance Variation in Modern Chess Openings by Nick de Firmian. Only the first one has a slight issue; there are two moves there that the computer doesn't like nowadays. Nonetheless, all of them are playable, and I think the other 5 are still considered best.    - Check them before joining the arena, and try to play them out.  The arena will be unrated and will start in about 45 minutes. Every game starts from move 3. Good luck!     Line 1:     Line 2:     Line 3:   Line 4:     Line 5:   Line 6:

I find this one to be extremely instructive. It's not really a puzzle, the move Anand played is not winning on the spot, but it's the only move that gives black an edge (the computer says -0.9). As a hint, this is what Magnus said about the move: "It's not an antipositional move, it shows wonderful understanding". (This is what makes this move so good) What do you think Anand played here?      This is the complete game. It's still regarded as one of Anand's best games. Check it out after you find the move.
