A grandfather who has spent the last 12 years transforming his council house into a stunning replica of the world-famous Sistine Chapel has finally completed his masterpiece.
Former decorator Robert Burns, 67, has been painting his three-bedroom home one room at a time after being inspired by Renaissance painters and the Vatican City.
The incredible transformation of the council home in Brighton, East Sussex, includes a recreation of the remarkable ceiling in the Sistine Chapel - the Pope's official residence in the Vatican City.

He has also added new paintings of celebrities including chef Nigella Lawson, 55, and music mogul Simon Cowell, 55, as they have never been seen before.
And it took him three times as long to complete his work as it took painter Michelangelo to complete his masterpiece in Rome.
What makes Robert's feat more spectacular is that the talented artist has never even been to Italy - or been taught how to paint.
And the spectacular transformation has only set the ambitious artist back £350 on paint supplies.

A wide-angled lens is able to capture the true extent of the transformation inside the home Robert shares with wife Linda, 59 - from bleak council house to stunning Renaissance residence
Robert started the ambitious task of finishing his home after buying a Renaissance book for £2 at a local car boot sale in 2003.
The house, which he shares with his wife Linda, 59, is covered in patterns and paintings from the famous Renaissance period.
Their three bedrooms, hallway, kitchen, dining room and living room have now all been transformed and look like something you'd see in the Vatican.
The father-of-three had previously painted comedian Russell Brand as Jesus, football star Wayne Rooney in prayer and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho as Leonardo da Vinci's Salvator Mundi.

Quite remarkably, Robert has never once been taught how to paint...nor has he ever visited Italy, the inspiration behind his work

The project is finally complete 12 years after it began. The interior detail even includes replica portraits and stills which adorn the home's walls
And the dedicated artist is now 'delighted' he has finally completed his detailed piece of art.
He said: 'I have finally completed the job I set out to do, but it's really been a labour of love, I've enjoyed every step.
'I started it in 2003 after I bought a tourist guide book about the Vatican City from a car boot sale in Lewes - it cost me £2.
'I was inspired by the Sistine Chapel in particular; every room was amazing and beautiful - that's what got me going.

Despite taking 12 years and Robert painting every last spot of his home, the ambitious artist has only had to fork out £350 for paint supplies
'I loved the Renaissance artwork and was hooked straight away; I didn't stop me that I've never been to Italy.
'I am delighted it's finished but to be honest I'll probably keep adding to it.'
Mr Burns added: 'I have done this all from books. I have never seen any of these paintings in situ.
'I am pretty quick now. I can paint a ceiling in a couple of weeks.
'When I first started I was working as a painter and decorator but I didn't like the Renaissance artwork in the house at first.

When Robert asked his wife Linda if she thought his early work looked like 'a dog's breakfast', she said no. That was enough to provide the 67-year-old with the green light he needed to plough on with his project
'I asked my wife Linda if she thought it looked like a dog's breakfast and she said she thought about it and she said she thought it was excellent - so I blamed her for me continuing.'
Mr Burns retired as a painter and decorator five years ago, which has allowed him to spend more time working on his masterpiece.
He added: 'Some days I spend up to six hours a day painting in the house and I'm very proud to be living here.
'I don't plan on moving - unless I win the lottery.
