So, I thought about adding an arena point system to chess.
Many other people might have had the same idea, but here's how mine goes:
1st place gets 20 points
2nd place gets 15 points
3rd place gets 10 points
4th place gets no points
You can also gain extra points by checkmating other players, and also capturing other player's pieces. However, you can also lose points when you lose pieces. There's also a 50 point cap. Whenever the total awarded points goes above 50, the remaining points will be subtracted from the other players. Gaining a certain amount of points will put you in higher divisions, and losing points will bring your division down.
Lastly, when you play teams in 4 player chess, the team that wins will be awarded 20 points each + additional points for pieces captured and lost. The point cap is 60, and remaining points will be subtracted from the opponent's score.
