💖 I love reading new articles about chaturaji
Thanks for your hard work
Quick flaw: apparently you don't know what a tactic is, the bishop trick is not a tactic lol
lol sry wrong def!
I am not rated well in Regular Chess and normal 4PC lol.
just tips.. you can find other ways too
also if blue also goes for the king pawn (and he is a good player and does not hate you for whatever reason) you can actually start with another pawn on move 1 as green and thre is no bish trick bc blue saves you
theres also some insane eventual line where you do like the bish trick with blue where red saves yellow, same concept applies here, just a diferent move order
In the game of chaturaji, chess is not changed completely.
The tactics have never been higher with this type of chess. Not only are there 4 players, but the amount of pieces you have now are very low, and your queen has been taken away. Use your thinking techniques to find out all the tactics in a certain position. In the opening of chaturaji, being green can be very dangerous. I had to learn this tactic the hard way:
Yes, if red and yellow both move their king pawn on the first move, and your green, the only way to survive the tactic known as "The Bishop Trick" is for green to move their king pawn on their first move.
In my opinion, positions like these are very uncofortable for me. After lots of checks later from yellow, your king might be ahead of your pawns! But in chaturaji, regardless of the rating you MUST never think, "Oh their rated so low, I'll play this move anyway". As survival is more key that comfortableness.
How to avoid Tactics:
Avoiding tactics is not something you are born with. Before you play chaturaji, you must play the game of chess first. Here you can practice your tactics and get at them. Once you have gotten a decent rating in normal chess ( not saying I'm a professional! ) you can now start playing regular 4PC. You STILL have not come to regular chaturaji yet, because with two players, there aren't as many tactics as 4PC. Even if your rating is bad in 4PC, all you need to be ready for chaturaji, are the tactics that are in 4PC. If you get bombarded with tactics from someone else, you need more practice. Else, if you loose, but the reason is everyone traded with everyone except you (In other words, you played well but they didn't really pay attention to you) then you are ready for chaturaji.
And as you go on in chaturaji, you'll find more and more tactics I have not included in this forum. Like taking pieces when a person is in check from someone else, and many other things.
As for now, you might be disappointed you have to do all the work, so I'll leave you with a little hint: Its called The Blunder Check
You use this for many things, you can use it for Regular Chess, 4PC, chaturaji, anything! So, here are the rules:
Blunder Check:
1. Is my move safe 2. Is my king safe 3. Does my opponent have any tactics? 4. What are the consequences of my move?
In normal chess, if you repeat this after yourself every time you make a move, you could inch your way up to ~1800 maybe?
Then, in chaturaji, we'll see how much you can do. Well, thats all for now, hope this is useful.
