SUICIDES
Yes i don't belie that i forgot Ian Curtis.A music genious,respect
Ian Curtis:The vocalist and lyricist of the band Joy Division, which he joined in 1976.While performing for Joy Division, Curtis became known for his quiet and awkward demeanor, as well as a unique dancing style reminiscent of the epileptic seizures he experienced, sometimes even on stage. The resemblance was such that audience members were sometimes uncertain if Curtis was dancing or having a seizure; there were several incidents where he collapsed and had to be helped off stage. In the early hours of Sunday, at 1980, in his kitchen after having viewed Werner Herzog's film Strozek and listening to Iggy Pop's Idiot.Curtis hanged himself. Many rumours surround the possible reasons for his suicide, with his poor health (due to the drugs he was having to take for his epilepsy, an exhausting performing schedule and related epilepsy problems) and failed marriage most often suggested.Age:23
Ingo Schwichtenberg:Was one of the founding members of German metal band Helloween.Schwichtenberg was ejected from the band in 1993 during the tour of the album Chameleon. The dismissal was reportedly due to Ingo's dependence on alcohol and drugs (most notably cocaine and hashish). Ingo also suffered from schizophrenia. After his ejection from the band, Schwichtenberg slid further and further into his schizophrenic episodes, which very sadly culminated in his suicide in 1995, by jumping in front of a subway train.Age:30
Kurt Cobain:An American musician, singer, guitarist and songwriter for the Seattle band Nirvana. On 1994 Cobain's body was discovered in the spare room above the garage at his home by Veca Electric employee Gary Smith. Smith arrived at the house that morning to install security lighting and saw him lying inside. Apart from a minor amount of blood coming out of Cobain's ear, Smith reported seeing no visible signs of trauma, and initially believed that Cobain was asleep. Smith found what he thought might be a suicide note with a pen stuck through it beneath an overturned flowerpot. A shotgun, purchased for Cobain by Dylan Carlson, was found resting on Cobain's chest. Cobain's death certificate stated that his death was a result of a "contact perforating shotgun wound to the head," and concluded his death a suicide.Age:27
Michael Kelland John Hutchence:The original lead singer of the Australian rock band INXS.However, on 1997 Hutchence, was found dead in his room at the hotel in Sydney. A belt found at the scene suggested that he had died by hanging. But nalysis of the witness statements in the Coroner's report(suicide), the lack of a suicide note and other anecdotal evidence, such as the fact that Hutchence was found nude has led some - including some of Hutchence's closest relatives, including his brother - to suggest that the cause of death may have resulted from autoerotic asphyxiation(strangling himself during a sex act). Age:37
Peter William Ham:A Welsh singer and songwriter best known as the leader of the group Badfinger.By 1975, without an income and contractually confined, Ham hanged himself in the garage of his Surrey home, three days shy of his 28th birthday. He left behind a pregnant girlfriend (his daughter was born one month after his death) and his personal estate was nearing foreclosure. His suicide note accused Badfinger's manager,of stealing the band's royalties. It read: "Anne, I love you. Blair, I love you. I will not be allowed to love and trust everybody. This is better. Pete. P.S. Stan Polley(manager) is a soulless bastard. I will take him with me." Age:28
Thomas Evans:Commonly known as Tom, was a musician who was most notable for his work with the Badfinger. In 1983, Evans argued with Molland on the telephone regarding the publishing division of the lucrative "Without You" song. Following this phone call, Evans hanged himself from a tree in his backyard. He left behind no note.Age:36Viktor Tzoy: Leader, singer and songwriter of Russian rock-group "Kino". It was later determined in an autopsy that Aycock had a trace of cocaine.Age:25
Stevie Ray Vaughan:An American blues-rock guitarist, one of the world's most influential guitarists. In 1990 after a concert with Clapton,Vaughan was informed that three seats were open on one of the helicopters returning to Chicago with Clapton's crew, enough for Vaughan, his brother Jimmie, and Jimmie's wife Connie. It turned out there was only one seat left; Vaughan requested it from his brother, who obliged.Moments after takeoff the helicopter crashed into a ski slope and all five on board were killed. The main cause of the crash was believed to be pilot error.Age:36
Lynyrd Skynyrd:An American Southern rock band.On 1977 near the end of their flight from South Carolina to Louisiana Skynyrd's chartered Convair 240 began to develop mechanical difficulties, and the pilots attempted an emergency landing on a small airstrip. Just short of its goal, the plane crashed in a forest. The crash killed singer/songwriter Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist/vocalist Steve Gaines, vocalist Cassie Gaines, assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary and co-pilot William Gray. Other band members were injured, some seriously. Drummer Artimus Pyle crawled out of the plane wreckage with several broken ribs, but was ambulatory, as were road crew members Kenneth Peden Jr. and Mark Frank. Robert Leroy Johnson:One of the most famous of Delta blues musicians.
His death occurred on 1938,at Mississippi. There are a number of accounts and theories regarding the events preceding Johnson's death. One of these is that one evening Johnson began flirting with a woman at a dance. One version of this rumor says she was the wife of the juke joint owner who unknowingly provided Johnson with a bottle of poisoned whiskey from her husband, while another suggests she was a married woman he had been secretly seeing. Researcher Mack McCormick claims to have interviewed Johnson's alleged poisoner in the 1970s, and obtained a tacit admission of guilt from the man. When Johnson was offered an open bottle of whiskey, his friend and fellow blues legend Sonny Boy Williamson knocked the bottle out of his hand, informing him that he should never drink from an offered bottle that has already been opened. Johnson allegedly said, "don't ever knock a bottle out of my hand". Soon after, he was offered another open bottle of whiskey and accepted it, and it was that bottle that was laced with strychnine. Johnson is reported to have started to feel ill into the evening after drinking from the bottle and had to be helped back to his room in the early morning hours. Over the next three days, his condition steadily worsened and witnesses reported that he died in a convulsive state of severe pain - symptoms which are consistent with strychnine poisoning. Strychnine was readily available at the time as it was a common pesticide, and although it is a very bitter-tasting substance it is extremely toxic, and a small quantity dissolved in a harsh-tasting solution such as whiskey could possibly have gone unnoticed, but (over a period of days due to the reduced dosage) still produced the symptoms and eventual death that Johnson experienced.Age:27

There is some debate as to the criterion used to include musicians who died at the age of 27 in the "27 Club". The impetus for the Club's creation were the deaths of an unusual number of prominent 27 year old musicians within a two year period of time. Lists include Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Jim Morrison. All four of these musicians died between 1969 and 1971. Hendrix, Joplin, and Morrison all died within a ten month period. Morrison and Jones died on the same date two years apart. Kurt Cobain, who died in 1994, was later included by some, probably due to his popularity and his death occurring at the pinnacle of his career. (According to the book Heavier than Heaven, when Cobain died, his sister claimed that as a kid he would talk about how he wanted to join the 27 Club.)
