Eminem Disses Boy and Girl Groups

hmmm im not really sure. idk if hes talking about korean bands but idk tbh
he doesn't seem like he would diss them like that though

perhaps just in general. i was legit a toddler when this came out so i don't really know what music was like -bAck tHen-

Umm....meggy the MV is just toooo explicit! 😬
anyways I think he’s targeting kpop groups cuz :-
1. He said little boy n girl groups, which r basically in kpop.
2. He said something like don’t be like me, dress like me (idk something like that)
So, I feel he’s targeting kpop li’l boy n girl groups

This is from Eminem's 'Slim Shady', one of his most well known songs. For those of you who do not know Eminem, he's a popular American rapper and here is a little about him
Credited with popularizing hip hop in Middle America, Eminem's global success and acclaimed works are widely regarded as having broken racial barriers for the acceptance of white rappers in popular music. While much of his transgressive work during the early 2000s made him hugely controversial, he came to be a representation of popular angst and the American underclass. He has been influential for many artists of various genres.
To be honest, I'm not sure if he's referring to kpop boy and girl groups specifically, or boy and girl groups in general. What do you guys think?
In the literal sense, Asian people are typically portrayed as shorter than average people, but S Koreans avg adult height is about the same as the US (according to Wikipedia XD). In that case, he would be dissing Kpop groups.
Otherwise, I would like to assume that he is talking to the general boy and girl groups of pop music.
I don't listen to his music either way. Never been a fan of him or explicit music.
Which is why I generally like KPOP more than American pop 😁

I agree, esp. with your last point

its catchy ngl but i had to clean my eyes after watching the mv
Same! lol
I actually like this song by Eminem. I also like 'Slim Shady' (minus the explicitness) because it's catchy, but he's pretty much trolling in the music video and the lyrics. In 'Stan', he seriously addresses the issue of crazy fans, and the music video, lyrics, and beat are kind of sad.

Veeerrrry late to this thread, but I can 100% assure you he's not talking about Kpop groups here. The western world would have next to no knowledge of Kpop in 2000, but there were famous US girl and boy groups kicking about then - Backstreet Boys, NSYNC etc.
Eminem fans have had a slight beef with Kpop over use of the words Stans, as that was "their thing" apparently.
Other than that the only thing I know is that he is memed a lot in the Orbit community as a comparison to Gowon's rapping ability. 😂
