I am as confused as you are on the who, what, when, where, why, how... but try clicking on or maybe just hovering over the piece that switched color. I have done that with a few oddities that I came across and it resolved the issue. ie: my opponents pieces shrunk after moving, so the bishop resembled a pawn... Then by hovering and/or clicking on them they came back to normal size

The pieces switch color once you can't move them anymore... also each piece can move (capture) 3 times and then it turns black. This is all in the rules.

Las piezas cambian de color una vez que ya no puedes moverlas ... también cada pieza puede moverse (capturar) 3 veces y luego se vuelve negra. Todo esto está en las reglas.

He's saying that he had already used his moves for his rook and it turned black, then he captured another piece but it was wrong, so he went back a move to retry it and his rook was white again and he was able to more it more than the 3 times it allows

Está diciendo que ya había usado sus movimientos para su torre y se volvió negra, luego capturó otra pieza pero estaba mal, así que retrocedió un movimiento para volver a intentarlo y su torre volvió a ser blanca y pudo más. que las 3 veces que permite

Solo chess. Find it when you hover over the puzzle piece on the left side of your screen.

Twice. But there has been a bug that if you do that, then move another piece twice, the original piece still can't be moved but changes back to the original color. It appears it may still be doing that.

@Martin_Stahl: Are seemingly minor problems that can be worked around by using the hover and/or click that I described above problems that warrant notification of staff? I have used it  several times but did not do bug reports for each time. Thank you!

Martin_Stahl

Bug report anything you feel needs it. For example, I don't use that feature very often, so can't say if it had been fixed previously and reverted or if it's just never been fixed
