HALO vs. STAR WARS

It's the perfect matchup: one of the most famous sci-fi movie series against one of the most famous sci-fi videogame series. The question is, if put in a fair fight, which of these two universes would prevail against the other?

NUMBERS:

            On one hand, Halo:

In the halo franchise, there are a total of nine species, listed in order as of the species' physical power: the Mgalekgolo (hunters), the Jiralihae (brutes), the Sangheili (elites), the Humans, the Forerunners, the San' Shyuum (prophets), the Kig-Yar (jackals), the Yanme'e (drones), and the Unggoy (grunts), a few more if you include the Prometheans and the Flood. Each of these species in their prime spread across several worlds, making their numbers very large.

            On the other, Star Wars:

Unlike Halo, there are countless species in Star Wars. Their numbers are spread heavily throughout the entire galaxy, with some even having permanent residency in planetary orbit. Also, they can clone thousands of troopers and manufacture millions of droids. The sheer number of these can prove a match to any fictional army. The Yuuzhan Vong, a race from the outside of the galaxy, will not be present in this war as they are from another galaxy.

In this category, I think we'll have to give it to Star Wars by a long shot.

TRAINING:

            On one hand, Halo:

Halo's SPARTANS formed the backbone of the UNSC military. They were trained to pilot any vehicle, be it land, air, or sea, and were all weapon experts. The main antagonist, Masterchief, is shown to on multiple occasions take on small armies alone. Certain Brutes and Elites are also shown to do this. When equipped with an energy sword, it seems like a well-trained human, brute, or elite could make work of the average Jedi.

Aside from this, all soldiers, including the lowest grunts that are used as cannon fodder, seem to be at least decently trained. They are always in military positions and can shoot with abnormal accuracy. UNSC and Covenant snipers alike can shoot their targets reliably from over a thousand paces away, no matter how fast the target is moving. This is also demonstrated when moving drones can hit you with their plasma guns while flying above your head.

The hunters seem to have little training, though enough to know when to use their canons and when to raise their shield and when to charge at their opponent. However, their size and strength have been seen to massacre groups of soldiers, especially in close quarters.

            On the other, Star Wars:

The clone troopers are said to be well trained, but they don't seem to be very accurate shooters and follow orders, even bad ones, unquestionably. However, they are undoubtedly physically strong.

The droids are not much better than the troopers, but some, notably the assassin droids and droidekas, are very skilled, being fast, accurate, strong, and most importantly, deadly.

Sorry Star Wars, but this category, if I'm not mistaken, goes to Halo.

Strategy:

            On one hand, Halo:

Halo troops are always crouched behind obstacles to avoid gunfire and shrapnel from grenades, actions rarely observed from the average footsoldier in Star Wars. Covenant troops are also in battle formation all the time until someone kills the leader and the grunts scatter all over the place. Promethean knights are very strong, and it requires heavy weaponry to bring down even one of them.

The generals from the UNSC and the prophets from the Covenant seem to be amazing strategists. It is frequently seen that an ambush catches a ship completely unawares in such an ingenious way.

On the other hand, Star Wars:

If you watched any episode of the Clone Wars, you would realize the stupidity of the Star Wars battle formation. Each side marches towards each other shooting their various weapons. Grenade blasts frequently tear holes in the armies' formation. The strategy seems terrible.

Another thing, this strategy is repeated throughout the war. It shows you that the generals of each army are not creative at all and seem to be lazy in that they don't figure out a better way to fight.

Again, I feel that this round goes to Halo.

TECHNOLOGY:

            On one hand, Halo:

The technology in the Halo universe is at the least superb. The Forerunners engineered a group of rings with the power to wipe out all sentient life in the galaxy, except for anything physically in the ring. If necessary, the Halo universe could retreat into these rings and then blow their opposition to smithereens.

They have also developed a way to bend the speed of light, therefore abiding by fact that nothing can surpass the speed of light. Forerunner technology has made it so that they can "digitalize" intelligent life forms and then make robotic bodies for them that the forerunners can control. Using this, Halo can vaporize legions of clones and turn them into even more powerful soldiers that they themselves control.

The covenant has also specifically engineered weapons that intentionally cause great incapacitating pain to sentient life and can fry robotics. This weaponry would be effective against whatever the Star Wars universe would throw at it.

            On the other, Star Wars:

What instantly comes to mind about Star Wars technology is the Death Star. However, this weaponry pales in comparison to the Halo rings. It can be argued that the Death Star is much more maneuverable and versatile than the rings. And since the Dark Side made two of these before calling quits, it seems like the Star Wars universe has enough resources to make dozens of these if the need should arise and they are given a peaceful working environment.

The guns in Star Wars are completely dubious. In all of my research, I couldn't find a formal answer to what the guns shoot. However, it seems that they shoot plasma or something similar (just like covenant weaponry), as it seems there is a battery rather than a magazine equipped to the blaster or rifle.

Like in Halo, the Star Wars universe can travel around quickly, but they travel at light speed of light rather than essentially teleporting.

I feel that this section is a draw.

RECYCLING:

            On one hand, Halo:

Yup, you read that right. Recycling. What I mean is how well these can recycle fallen soldiers. Halo's Flood is what instantly comes to mind in this case. A flood infection form can hideously deform anything of sufficient biomass when it has pierced a tentacle into the host's nervous system whether the host is dead or alive. This transforms the host into a monstrously strong and powerful being known as a combat form. If the host isn't large enough to become a combat form, it is transformed into a carrier form that produces infection forms. The host needs an infection form to control it, however, and the bodies are defensibly weak.

The Promethean Knights are essentially organic AI (It's difficult to explain, so just go onto halopedia or fandom if you want to know more), and when their bodies are destroyed, a new one can just be manufactured for them. Because of this, they are essentially immortal.

 See the source image

a flood carrier form. I was going to show a combat form or even a pure form, but they seemed to disgusting to be pictured in such a close-up form.

            On the other, Star Wars:

The zombie parasite in Star Wars is the brain worm. They can take complete control of an organism, even a dead one. However, infection is difficult and usually happens in controlled environments or when the host is asleep. It's main usage is for reconnaissance, as an infected individual can walk straight into a military fort or ship and sabotage and/or steal military secrets.

There are factions of strange people in the Star Wars universe that practice forms of magic such as necromancy. In the only observed case, the nightsisters, this is not very strong, though the fact magic is used here opens up questions as to what other secrets might there be in the Star Wars universe.

I feel the Halo universe eclipes the Star Wars in this case.

I don't know what to support, but the fact that Halo can wipe out all life in a galaxy with the push of a button seems like the winning team.
