What's a nether portal speedrun?

Pff mi record is about 17 minutes 

10 mins lol, get a good spawn with lava and get 2 buckets then use lava to set portal on fire.

Survival 17 minutes createve 5 minutes 

Sounds like an interesting challenge.  The hardest part would be getting iron for the buckets, everything else is fairly simple.

I'll try it sometime.

It'd actually require skill to be that slow in creative.

I did it in 19 minutes 32 seconds yesterday. I ended the clock when it first started loading the terrain when I entered the portal. It would have been about 15 minutes if not for the fact that I spawned in snowy biome with absolutely no food within a 100 mile radius, causing my hunger bar to completely run out before I finally found some pigs.

Version: 1.8.9

Attempt: 2 (3, if you include my incredibly terrible first attempt (played in 1.14.4) which took 58 minutes because I got lost in a cave and forgot where the lava pool (which I had found earlier) was).

I just did it again in 23:49.

Finding the iron is extremely easy. The hardest part by far is finding a lava pool. I usually spend most of the time just running around in caves looking for the lava.
