It's called the RED-WINGED blackbird.

Why ???   Who knows........it's bright colored orange......not red........lol..........stupid wink.png 

But, I saw this at my local Wendy's the other day !!!

Very common in Eastern Kansas. Very beautiful too.

As for the orange/red...purple finches usually look red. The robin's red breast usually looks like dull rust. Who knows how these things get named.

You're right, and i always wondered why (robins)  but i finally saw an oriole, now that is orange !!!
