In general I agree with what @stevetuck wrote in his post,
Is there a contradiction between Genesis 1 and 2?

Tim Chaffey, who wrote the response in the link above, just did a video for Answers in Genesis about supposed contradictions in the Bible.

Thanks Steve, Intresting. I am a beliver and know that The Bible is from God. I do have questions.
Genesis one says God created humans male and female.
Genesis two says God made Adam and then took a rib and made Eve. Then there son Cain went to the land of Nod and took a wife and then built a city. That suggest a large number of people were there.

This seems like a good answer to me to the question: Where did Cain get his wife?

I don't think there are contradictions in the Bible. There are many things to understand and there are
mysteries that we may never understand. I believe we have everything we need so I hope no one thinks I question the Bible but I do have questions.

I will make another statement that will gag some people. Besides thinking there are no contradictions in the Bible, only misinterpretations of the original scriptures and they are few. I also believe there are no contradictions between the Bible properly understood and science properly understood. I think God is not the author of confusion. I also think God is very logical in how he deals with man and his creation. I do have some questions myself but I keep studying and meditating on those subjects until I get a clarification that fits. I don't think God is mystical I think she wants to be known intimately, and I think God shows his nature by his creation. Right now I think everything in my mind is solid but I have family that think I am a hairy tick. You just can't please everyone because we each have blindfolds provided by Satan and his minions. That keeps us from seeing clearly God's directives.

wsswan I don't disagree with your post.
I think there may be a difference between mysteries and mystical
None of us have all the answers. Only God, there are no mysteries for him.
I'm sure many of you know how the Bible was put together. For hundreds of years nothing was writen.
Then quite a few years after Christ Christians decided to put the new testament together. Then hunderds of more years to decide what would be included and what we believe and what we didn't.
I trust in the Bible as Gods words.

There are for sure mysteries, but I believe God has revealed everything He wants us to know. First Thessalonians 5:1-4 Now brothers about times and dates we do not need to write to you for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying peace and safety destruction will come on them suddenly as labor pains on a pregnant woman and they will not escape. But you brothers, are not in darkness so that the day should surprise you like a thief. I trust in the Bible also. Pay attention to the last part of the Scripture (but you brothers, are not in darkness so that the day should surprise you like a thief) I believe God wants us to know about the future and how to prepare ourselves for the problems the future contains. By that I mean spiritual preparation not hoarding as some people do!

Well I studied Koine Greek for several years and about one year of Hebrew and two years of Latin. That way I could go to the ancient languages and see what they said and I learned a lot of things by learning those ancient languages so I have had questions that I studied the ancient languages to get a better understanding of what was said.
Is there a Contradiction in the Creation Accounts of Genesis Chapter 1 and Chapter 2?
The Short Answer: No, there isn't. Genesis 1:1–2:3 provides us with a chronological account of what God did on each of the days during Creation Week. Genesis 2:4–25 zooms in on Day Six and shows some of the events of that day.
