This guy beat the TOP Bot (MITTENS) by making it resign??!! Is this person cheating by using hacks?

Hi! So I was scrolling through the Blog topics of "Mittens" the newest, hardcore kitten Bot, to see what people were discussing... Then I came across this profile that claimed to have defeated mittens.

And sure enough, here the game was... what I found strange was, the cat had 94.9 accuracy and this guy has only 83.1, and yet the cat lost?? Something was off, so I went to view the game... AND I WAS SHOCKED!!

The guy had won because... THE BOT RESIGNED!!???

I am pretty sure AI doesn't just resign... I have never seen a bot resign... I've seen people beat the mittens bot in a 1|0 game, where the bot takes at least 2 seconds to play each move (In which case, players just blitz out the final few moves and the bot gets timed out), but this is a different story. Had the guy defeated the bot using the time exploit method, it would have shown won because Black timed out. So I decided to check the final position, what made the bot abruptly "resign"

Even more SHOCKING, is that Black was actually a full Rook up in material (+5)

And Black (Mittens BOT) wasn't even timed out either (U can see that the but still has 1.2 seconds left at the end of the game).

Is this some glitch? Is he Hacking? I find this very mysterious and suggest others take a closer look and discuss this...

SUMMARY OF CASE:

1. A user by the name of AymaneKasri won a game against the recently added MITTENs the kitty cat (Arguably one of the hardest bots in chess.com). But the twist here is that Mittens had a 94.9 accuracy and the guy had only 83.1. So right off the bat, something doesn't seem right

2. The game is available in his profile (AymaneKasri plays the white pieces and Mittens plays the black pieces, and when you take a closer look at it, it says 1-0 White won because black resigned. This IS IMPOSSIBLE, Bots/AI/computers (whatever u wanna call them), don't just resign, right?

I have never seen a bot resign... 3. After taking a closer look at the game, I found something even more shocking

Black (Mittens BOT) was actually up a FULL Rook in material (+5)

And Black (Mittens BOT) wasn't even timed out either (U can see that the bot still has 1.2 seconds left in its clock at the end of the game).

well , chess.com can do a scan on him if he did cheat and use hacks

GM_64King

Have you ever seen a bot resign before (I haven't)

Flame_767

i think he played a bullet game and the bot lost on time or something

Flame_767

but resignation is weird. i actually found a guy who beat komodo25 as the bot resigned. weird

GM_64King

Bro did you read the post fully or not @Flame_767 ?

I have clearly mentioned that the BOT DID NOT get timed out (at the end of the game, the bot still had time left in its clock), even if the bot did get timed out, it would have showed "WHITE WON 1-0 on timeout"

Yes, computers do resign. Almost all of them do. You probably just don't have that setting turned on.but i dont think he( mittens) would resign tho

This type of topic isn't really allowed.

Also, the resignation termination for the game appears to be a bug; there's a game in that archive won by checkmate that also says it was won by resignation.
