If anyone looks at this, I found the Marshall Chess Club. They have stuff for all levels of players and beginners classes on Tuesday which I plan on attending! https://www.marshallchessclub.org/newvisitors
Is this the best place for local NYC Chess or is another group live?

Washington Park is a good place...I miss NY so much, man. I'm in Houston--been here the last 3 years, but I miss NY a lot. It's my home state, my home city. I just can't wrap my head around the winters there. After I experience a winter down here, it was like Pandora's box--hard to imagine returning full-time to the winters up there. Idk. Anyways, hope to play chess with you soon! If you enjoy reading, check out my novels on Amazon ... type in Salustiano Berrios Books
Hey everybody,
I recently picked up playing Chess this past month, I live in lower Manhattan and was curious if there are any local places to play during the week in person. As a new player, I feel like online chess has been a fun place to learn and improve, but I feel like there is a social aspect missing from the experience. Any recommendations welcome, and if there is a more active NYC community on here that rec would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
