not sure, the most vibrant in this list are clearly the Devils Fingers and Bleeding tooth, but I would probably choose the Death Angel, because it looks so harmless but is one of the deadliest. Also it's got the coolest name

Continuing with the last post I thought we could take a look at some more dark shroom names. This time I'll try to not grow bored too quickly. Trigger warning for any of the fears listed: blood, death (ig), zombies, insects, disembodied limbs, teeth (?) and ears(?). None of these are present, but the mushrooms look like them so... I've coincidentally put the worst ones at the bottom. As with the last time, this list is in no particular order. Enjoy.
Deadly Skullcap
Skullcap... I almost see it. But even without the visual reasons, the name is quite fitting. This mushroom produces a deadly poison capable of turning you into a corpse.
Death Cap
These names don't mess around. Understandable given eating this cute thing would help you discover where we all go when we die. It's considered the most poisonous mushroom, so I don't see a need to add Cap at the end.
Crazed Cap
From what I've learned so far, this mushroom's name should have some... fun implications hehe. Unfortunately not. In fact it isn't even the name of a specific mushroom. Crazed Cap is a whole genus. This means there are a plethora of different species that fall under this name. Some could have that... effect, but some are poisonous and others are edible. Since I can't post one picture of every species, I'll show you the Dark Crazed Cap
Death Angel
Death Angel, Destroying Angel, Angel of Death. This may sound crazy, but I think this gi might be deadly. A cousin of the Death Cap, this baby packs quite a punch. Even worse, they're shockingly common in the west of North America. Even worse than THAT is how similar they look to the edible Button Mushroom in their immature stage(something I failed to mention for their cousin, the Death Cap).
An extra pic just so you can see the different stages.
Devil's Fingers
No... Just no. That is genuinely terrifying. It may not be poisonous, but I think I need to talk to the Pope after seeing this. Although they aren't dangerous to eat, their horrible stench and disgusting taste makes them effectively inedible. Though honestly I wouldn't eat them if they smelled like happiness and tasted like Dorito's. Well actually, if they tasted like Dorito's I would eat them, but that's not the point.
Zombie Fungus
This gi might not be the most dangerous fungus to humans, but it sure is the creepiest. I've had the misfortune of knowing this information to the point of memorisation, so it's only fair you learn about it too. I won't even google anything.
They're also called cordyceps (full name is Ophiocordyceps unilateralis{I googled this}). For this example we'll focus on the Zombie Ant species. The zombie fungus is a parasitical fungus. Its spores will fall onto an ant and infect the insect. For a while the ant will be unaware of the problem as the fungus grows and slowly takes control of its body. Once it does gain control, it will go about its day without causing suspicion. Because the fungus doesn't touch the brain, it's theorised that the insect is fully conscious throughout the process. Eventually, the fungus directs the body to climb up a plant near the colony. It clamps the ants jaws to the plant (so it doesn't get blown away) then it grows it's stem. Once that fully grows, it releases spores that fly through the air towards the colony and falls onto unsuspecting victims. Then the process repeats. (this was all from memory so please do your own fact checking and research)
This time I endured for quite a while, so I don't feel as bad. It actually feels right to end it with this fungus in particular (given how much I know about it). I still have 4 more that I'd like to at least show so we'll call them the honourable mentions. I won't add my own comments for these.
Witches Butter
Bleeding Tooth
Jelly Ear
Dead Man's Fingers
