How can I no longer receive these 'puzzle' posts? I never signed up for them.

Hi
You can set that you don't recive an notification when a post is new here inside the club. It's a setting for all the posts, only puzzles posts is not possible.
Inside the club you can go to my settings. On that page you can deselect on what you don't whant notifications for. For the puzzles you have to deselect forum item.
The puzzles are an part for what we want to do for the club members. You don't have to look at them but we invite you to solve them 
.
