Errr, sound cool!! I guess we may as well explore it because chess.com have been busy with the new variants page!!

Its forced win for RY. Unless you play alt teams which was available for a long time on 4p
Yes, probably you are right: Red and Yellow have a great advantage, not sure it can be called a "forced win" though. Anyway FFA is the true spirit of Chaturaji imo.
The original Chaturaji was a truly ancient game and according to several historians and most of the sources it was played using two 4-faced barrel dice:
* The Boat moving like an Alfil, and the Elephant moving like a Rook (a bit confusing).
It can be tested here: https://www.ajedrezeureka.com/chaturaji
That was just to say: BNRK should theoretically be more correct, but playing with dice is all different...
it was analysed in the past and its a forced win. its even worse if you use BNRK though
It was analysed by myself, Hest1805 and xXMagolorXx (the latter two are very strong players, I'm just 2300 ) and although no forced checkmates were reliably playable red and yellow have a massive advantage that at the very least will give them a large material advantage.

I want to try alt teams more as well seems really interesting
What about Blue & Yellow vs Red & Green ? (keeping the starting position unchanged)
Teammates would play consecutively, kind of volleyball warfare, I don't know the sport terms for that (Italian: alzata e schiacciata). In each pair there would be one player mostly defender (preparing the attacks) and one player mostly offender (executing the attacks).
I don't know if it works, I've just come up with it right now, I never tried.

Thats already a rated thing (Chaturaji Alt Teams), It's an interesting version of the game.
What do you guys think about the new team option to play Chaturaji pair vs pair ? ... I haven't tried yet for lack of time.
