Are there any plans to include custom position variants?

From what I can tell it's just the ones on the live server

Hopefully not just those in the future haha, with about 100 variants there should be some more variety

You know that brings another question. So I too can make it apparent without saying anything that suggests that certain variants outside the play server get featured in this and would help with great pleasure if the Variants Server is being featured in these events.

So the question I have now is, for the variants that exist in both the Play and Variants server (such as KotH and Crazyhouse and 3-check), which platform would these be featured on, the live or variants server?

So probably chess.com/play? It'd be more accurate pairing-wise since most people don't have an established KOTH rating on chess.com/variants, but doesn't make much sense given that the variants logo is featured.

Long term koth, 3+ ect. would think should redirect the way bughouse does, but to the variant server

Short term perhaps koth 3+ should be on /play and have koth /variants redirect to /play?

Good point. Variants Server Arenas cannot currently be exclusive to clubs like Play Server Tournaments can be. I’d have to get a word from the Variants Server Developers on whether a feature can be added to include only certain usernames and/or chess.com club members exclusively.

Maybe I am misunderstanding the purpose of this club. I thought you were looking for variants of chess competitions or tournaments to add to the options members of chess.com could choose from. My idea uses matches played on chess.com. Are there some other criteria I am not meeting? If the concept does not meet the definition of a 'variant' please let me know directly.

The purpose of the club is for discussion of chess variants located for the most part at: https://www.chess.com/variants

Variations on competition/events are not a priority as far as I'm aware.

thanks for your input. I suppose my understanding differed from yours. What I am doing is unique, unusual, and in my opinion a variation of the way a game of chess is viewed. Variants are similar in that they are unique, unusual, and variations from the normal rules. I want to add my version to the list of options available to Chess players as a variant or side action. What is wrong with that?

Just curious, what's the schedule? The time of the arena is really inconvenient for people of all ages in the United States at least (obviously, this is an international event, but read on), and it's unclear whether everyone will get a chance to play
