@sharpdon recently joined this club and has an idea for the club, so over to Sharpdon.

Hello. I got an idea for the club, say what you think in the comments below.

Its a U1800 chaturaji championship! This will require everyone to have played at least one game of chaturaji, it will also require me to get an authorized admin status.

Thank you and Good Night.

FYI everyone is already talking about this

Relly?

What do you say

Broken_ratings99

Timalina2

Very good im 1700

We have been considering a lower rated championship/tournament for some time now. We also cannot simply hand out Administration roles within the club, a lot of thought goes into the process of deciding who would constitute a good Administrator.

Thankyou for wanting to contribute to the club though! We are always happy to hear new ideas happy.png

i think this whole matter either belongs in a club separate from chaturaji masters (perhaps an official chess.com "chaturaji club"), or this whole club needs to be changed from "chaturaji masters" to "chaturaji club". it goes against tradition to include anybody who is not a chaturaji master, let alone host events for them.

I wish a chess.com club could be subdivided into sub-clubs, similar to the forums on a website or channels on a discord server. Would the developers resolve this matter? The current physical structure of a chess.com club is so simple

I want to raise on Sharpdom's bet: I propose an under-1600 tournament requiring me to be super-admin! grin.png

Just joking... I agree with the idea, of course. It just happens in every Chess club, Chess community (or whatever Chess group) to have different level tournaments.

The only problem is to actually FIND enough low-rated players for running a decent tournament. The idea is noble, let's see if it works then...

Max_Wolfe

I propose an U1000 rated tournament. : |

Actually, Sharpdon's original idea was u1500. But after rec eiving Trap's and Arma's opinions, he accepted to raise it to u1800

samuelebeckis

No no wait Elena, here the raises are downward.

Max_Wolfe proposed 1000 already, and... I fold!

Good thing too, I always had negative infinity up my sleeve wink.png

(Pun intended always)

@Max_Wolfe you are the best, I cannot compete! thumbupthumbupthumbup

On the actual matter, I'm wondering what about the players in between? It would be fair to also run tournaments in the 1800-2100 range. Isn't it ?

Yep, definitely. Although as we all know it is difficult to organise tournaments effectively. I think a <2000 arena is a simple temporary solution

Broken_ratings99

What about a tournament everyone can play in but the score system benefits low rated players so they have an equal or higher chance of winning the tournament as high rated players

Terk explains this matter in this comment https://www.chess.com/es/announcements/view/changing-club-membership-requirements#comment-70766123

Maybe you can't compete but I can.
