What's your favorite chess piece? (and why)

I agree as well. It is also very useful in closed positions. I also enjoy forks.

I like the rook because of the general nature of it in games. It normally remains quiet in the corner, unable to do just about anything, until the end of the game where it shows off its true power. Of course, with openings like the Vienna Gambit Accepted, it can come out earlier, but that's my point of view.

but my second favorite is knight

Yes, I like rooks, particularly when they are connected and how they can stand up to a queen. I like knights too but i am not sure i use them well, and i am scared of my opponent's knights.
