Where to play Chess in Thailand?

There are several Chess clubs and regular chess meetings in Thailand.

We will try to update these as best as we can.

Anyone knows of others, please feel free to post here.

Bangkok Chess Club: www.bangkokchess.com

- Meets twice a week on Tuesday and Friday.
- From about 6:30pm to 11:30pm.
- Blitz tournaments begin at about 8:00pm.
- or you can come to play casual games over great food & drinks.
- All players from beginners to Grandmasters are welcome.
- Absolutely free! (though it would be nice to order something)

PATTAYA CHESS CLUB

Pattaya chess club meets officialy every Tuersday (18.00 to 23.00 hrs) at restaurant "Brauhaus", on second road between "Pattay Central Festvial" and Tops supermarket, near Soi 7. Thay do have chess boards and clocks.

JOMTIEN -  CHESS ON THE BEACH

 At the Jomtien Beach, in front of the Sea Breeze Hotel, every afternoon (if sunny day) you can find someone playing chess.

This is a guesthouse in Kata, Phuket.

The owner is a very strong chess-player.  Sometimes he offers freebies to guests who can beat him at blitz ! 

i live in jangwat phetburi but will be in bangkok on friday the 11th. would like to drop in at the queen victoria for some bangers and mash and a casual game or two. 

I finally stopped by Southern Fried Rice but the owner was out.  I play squash around the corner from there, so I expect to become a regular at his place.

Any places in Khon Kaen?

Im working here in Bangkok and I really want to play some OTB chess for fun. Hope to play soon! ;-)

There's a foreign teacher who's started a chess club at Khon Kaen University.  We meet from 5p.m.-9p.m. on the first floor(where the food stalls are) of the University Complex every Tuesday.  If anyone is passing through Khon Kaen on a Tuesday, do visit.  :)
