Thanks. Although I believe you should take a better care of your page.

So what if I wanna buy a yoyo? What should I look for. How should I choose? Is the cost relative to the performance?

Ok What I advise you look for in a yoyo for a beginer i something that is a bit durable (so it can hit the ground a bit and not break) also depends on the style you want to do, If you want the yoyo to come back with a tug then you will be looking for a responsive yoyo which is used for styles 0A and 2A 2A is two unresposive yoyos. but if you want to do things like the two videos I posted above that is 1A and uses an unresponsive yoyo (it doesn't come back with a tug) like wise with 3A and 5A. (4A is another story....) but what I advie people to look for is a yoyo that can be ued in both the responsive and unresponsive. The best web sit for finding yoyos is. www.yoyoexpert.com yoyos that are good for both styles that I have found are listed: Prelude (yoyojam), Flipside (Duncan), F.A.S.T. (Yoyo factory) Velocity (yoyofactory), Speed dial (yoyofactory). These are the four yoyos I have found that can be ued for unresponsive and responsive. But The Velocity and the Speed dial have a dial you tighten or loosen that can make you move from resonsive to unresonive in a few twist where as the Prelude and th flipside require compleatly takeing the yoyo apart and changing bearing. The F.A.S.T. can change responsive with a twist but it uses a weak starburst reponse the wears out and can't be replaced. The Speed dial also uses starburst but it is stronger and will last much longer but again can't be replaced. The others all use silicone response which with the best pads can last a few months (of active everyday play) but cost $3 for a set of 2. A far as cost to performance it dependes as far a beginer yoyo not really although all but one of the yoyo I named are 10 - 15 dollars and are plastic the speed dial is metal with platic rims and normal price is 40 yoyoexpert sells the B-grades for 20 (B-grade means there will be some discoloration of the anodiation but nothing that affects the play of the yoyo) But yes when you get to the profetions al yoyos you get them in 3 levels the first is in the $45-$65 range these are good but not useing the most precise systems to build it or cheeper metals.  then next range is the $85-$135 range these are a high quality in balance but till uses aluminum as the main metal of production. Then you get the $230-$500 range which is where you get to the Titanium yoyos where they put the highest quality into production because of the quality expectation of a titanium yoyo. But as far is it goes all the yoyos chip the same as easy if your yoyo hit concret hard whether or not it is titanium there will be a lot of damage that can be done that can mess with the balance of the yoyo so till you get profetional despite the quality difference I advise people to stay in th $45-$65 range as a big chip on the yoyo won't be as bad as on a $230-$500 yoyo. If you do get a $45-$65 try to make sure that the yoyo each half is a solid piece of metal and not metal with a platice center as the plastic can break much easier making the life of the yoyo shorter.

I hope this all helps it is quite in depth if you have any other question feel free to ask.

 Thanks

Wow how interesting. Yes I am interested. Didn't know there was a yoyo world out there. Uh, at some point I thought what you call yoyo should differ greatly from what I call that.

When we were younger they bought us a few plastic yoyos, I don't believe they were expensive. We would move it around a bit and that was it. They were unimportant pieces of little fun which would come and go as a mild fever. That's the word, they were "mild". No real playing with them or a lot of thought.I mean anything mild would be of not much interest in our restless world. A doctor once told me I had broken my knee in my youth and didn't even notice it!

I find your post very intriguing and most of all cool! I'll get back at you on this after I watch the videos in a few days!

Thanks for the informative and very kind reply my friend. I love how passionate you are about this.

Cheers!

Yes Yoyoing has gone much farther then when the yoyo frenzy happened as the new style started to come out as the frenzy died down and these five main styles were the outcome 1A string tricks (my main style) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMd2oKx0PTo

2A Two responsive yoyos one in each hand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-dqtfmIs2I

3A Two unresponsive yoyos one in each hand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WThTqf9k-fY

4A Off-string as in the yoyo is not attached to the string..... Yes it is possible.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbgrRaO169M

5A Free-hand this style uses an unresponsive yoyo with a counter wight on one end like a casino die or bouncy ball. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZZyWsVIG4Y

since I last posted a new yoyo design has made its self quite popular.

New bi-metal yoyos are hitting the market by storm. Aluminum centers with steal or titanium rings on the inside and/or outside of the yoyo. also the new nine dragons my Yoyofactory and yoyoformula. called the nine dragons. a new game changer in the yoyo world! :D

I used to be into yoyos back when Tom Kuhn wooden yoyos were about the cutting edge of technology, whenever that was. Not long after that they introduced bearings, so that was a big jump forward. But we didn't have unresponsive yoyos. I had all manner of yo yo educational material and I never once heard the word "bind".

I just recently got back into it, because someone asked me if I ever picked one up anymore. I said no, but it got me digging around into my stuff. And looking into the modern stuff. The new unresponsives spin so long you don't just do yo yo tricks anymore, you do long combinations of tricks on a single throw. I'm learning to bind and it's exciting stuff.
