This is unrelated to chess but these are fun riddles. Post more if you some. 1. A man has a donkey, a wolf, and some cabbages. He has to ferry them over a river. He can only take one thing at a time. The wolf will eat the donkey if he ferries the cabbages first, and if he ferries the wolf first, the donkey will eat the cabbages. Sure, he ferries the donkey first, but then what? PS: Some of you might know this! I'll post more later!

Hi everyone! As most of you know, Team Vote Chess here at YCPI has recently undergone some changes. One of these is the addition of a VC captain in each match. So far, I have been the only one fulfilling this role. However, I will not always be available to do this. Therefore, I am creating a vote chess captain sign up sheet with this forum! In order to sign up though, you must agree to follow these rules. 1. You must be an active participant in vote chess with prior team vote chess experience. Each move, you must be igniting discussion within the team, taking the strong discussed moves and turning them into a list from which players can choose what to vote for. 2. Your job is not to be a dictator. Your job is to moderate the discussion, contribute, and compile the best moves from the discussion. Personal preference should not be reflected through your captain position, but you can and should suggest moves that you feel are good. 3. If you have any issues involving a player, for example rule violations, let the vote chess admin (adarub1) or a superadmin know. We will handle it from there. 4. Do not abuse your power of vote chess captain. Any rules violation by a vote chess captain will result in their immediate expulsion from the position. Similarly, vote chess captains may not be on the spammer list. If you meet these requirements and are interested, please sign up! Players currently signed up: 1. FishGY 2. messi2 3. Juge
gluestix: 0 day's to go. I suspect you invited those 3 new Aussie players. Okay, starting from today-Satuday, I want to see 5 new people (invited by you) and you tell me who you invited on the notes. And, if you can't do that, you're of the admin list. If you can, you're on the admin list. C'mon, we need more members. Keep on going, dont stop and give up. haysans2012: (Expired)NOTE: of you go mate. I wanna see the group rise in members. But you haven't invited anyone yet (??) So, for you to remain in admin, I want to see 1 new member everyday. If you can't do that, you will not be admin. If those last 3 members that joined were invited by you, you will stay. PLEASE TELL ME. But you're not telling you, so I'm afraid your admin positon will be taken away Matthew_Alexander: (Expired) NOTE: Get more members in that ladder. Send people private messages if you have to. If we reach 15 (that's 10 extra) then you will remain admin. Don't start anything without my permission. Nothing has rose from the ladder and it's 4 day's to go. COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, but you have failed the test messi2 (June) 1: I wanna see at least 3 new matches (make sure you keep an eye on them) and at least 2 members from you this week (starting from today-saturday) adarub1 EXPIRED: Let's play some team matches and vote chess (make sure you make sure people join them) on Day 2, you're off to a good start. Adarub1, you have done a fine job and will remain admin. Keep it going! Good Luck!
if you have any REALLY good games you have played, post them here (with commentaty if you want)
Hi! We are going to do a ladder a bit different here. In this ladder, you can challenge anyone on your level. But, there are levels in this ladder. You will alway's start at level 1. To get up to Level 2, you're going to need to play 5 games, and score 50% in those games. To get up to Level 3, you need to complete 5 more games, and score 60% in your games. To get up to Level 4, you're going to need to complete 5 more games, and score 70% in your games. If you get up to Level 5, you're going to need to complete 5 more games and get 75%+ in your games. Level 5 is the last level. Okay, that's all!If you wish to enter, say "I'm in" and when you have finished a game, please post the link of the game NOTE: If this ladder doesn't crack at least 20 active people in the ladder by next week (22/03/2014) then this ladder will be deleted

Ruy Lopez Diagram of the Ruy Lopez History The 'Ruy Lopez', also called the Spanish Game, is one of the most popular, and also one of the best, openings for white. It is named after the Spanish Chess-playing priest, Ruy Lopez de Segura. It is one of the more old, traditional openings, starting with the move e4. Plans behind the 'Ruy Lopez' 1. e4 e4 is one of the most popular openings, as it allows open diagonals for both the bishop (on the f file) and the queen (on the d file). It also allows White to control the centre - on e4 and d5. This also allows White's third move of Bb5 1.e5 e5 allows black to play with symmetry, to prevent whites advance, and to also open diagonals and control the centre. MORE COMING SOON. . . I CAN'T KEEP STARING AT THE SCREEN RIGHT NOW. SORRY!
