Maybe House Of Staunton?
I'm looking for European factories that make chess sets.

I think most sets are now made in India. I think Chavet still produces sets but I could be wrong about that. The quality from Chavet seems high questionable given some of the reviews. Noj is in Slovenia. They are super expensive. The prices are reasonable if you consider they are in the EU where the labor and taxes are high. You can check out their website at http://www.noj.si or https://www.dubrovnikchessmen.com. Noj's quality is excellent... best in the market I have seen. However, there is a waiting list that extends to the end of 2022. You can put your name on the list if you like what they have.
The sets made in India are good in quality and craftsmanship... not as good as Noj but way better than Chavet. I am just curious to know why you prefer a European made set?

There is also Kadun in Russia,
Another company, which should be discussed more often is Woodgames from Russia. They are wholesalers and not selling directly to retail, but have plenty of offerings. FIDE is listed as one of their clients, so it is quite possible that the FIDE set, at least the board comes from this company,
Maybe House Of Staunton?
House of Staunton sets are manufactured in India, just like every other reseller.

Chavet stopped making sets a while back.
I thought so too but a few have confirmed Chavet still makes the number 5 set. @Pawnerai purchased it and complained about the quality. https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-equipment/the-current-chavet-sets-are-so-unbelievably-bad-its-comical-enjoy-the-photos

I was looking to a set awhile back their was only one set left and even now I cant find where they are for sale. Doing a search there are none on the market. Do you know of where they are for sale. Not that I want one. Just curious.

I was wondering the same thing. I will pose that question to @Pawnerai in the other thread.

Pawnerai did get a really bad one. In the past have seen some of the later sets that looked pretty good. As I recall was it Morize that was distributing the last run?

@Crusaderwabbet Agreed! It was terrible. One thing good about a terrible wood set is that I don't have to take care of it. I can just dump the set into a bag like @Pawnerai.

Sunrise Chess I believe is out of Poland.
Chess Games Shop is out of Slovenia
Chess and Games Online Shop Muba (chessgamesshop.com)
Of course if you have the cash NOJ is an option out of Slovenia
Wooden chess set, Noj Slovenia, made in Europe - chess pieces EU

Aobo (Spain) and Varientes (France) are working together or the same owner. I ordered my Chavet no 5 from Aobo but sent by Varientes France. They're both out of stock but you can subscribe when they're in stock again. I received a mail from Varientes couple of weeks ago it was back in stock and in few days they were sold out again.

I have good experience with Aobo. 2 rooks were flawed and I received 2 new ones without fuss. I didn't even have to send the flawed rooks back.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however stupid.
And you just shared yours with us, thanks. 😏
Hello everybody! I want to buy myself a good set of wooden chess pieces. I'm looking for European factories that make chess pieces. I don't want to buy Chinese or Indian sets. Also, I must say that I really like the chess set German Knight. It would be good to find one of good quality, where the figures would meet the standards.
