You might check out the chess retailers cited here, which are all located in USA and generally well-known and have good reputations for the quality of their products and service. They all sell both wood and plastic sets in addition to a wide range of other chess related products...

Note also in my blog article the comment relating to choosing the size of the set (i.e., piece size vs board square size), which is conventionally (and appropriately) related to the ratio of the King's base diameter to the board's square size, where a good rule of thumb is...
King base diameter = 0.75*square size (approximately)
So as you had calculated, a King base diameter of ~ 30-31mm for a 40mm square should work well.
Note that the King's height (as well as the height & size of the other pieces) is essentially a matter of personal preference and is thus a secondary consideration versus the aforementioned ratio...

hello. I am planning to buy a staunton chess set for the first time. The desk is small so I can't place a large chess board on it. So, I am planning to purchase a 32 cm chess board with a square size of 40mm. 40×0.78=31. I think a king base of 30~32mm is appropriate for a square 40mm board. Are there any products you would recommend among the king bass 30~32mm pieces? This is my first time buying Staunton chess so I have no idea. If possible, I would appreciate it if you could also attach a photo of the product.
