Scid vs PC - databases became "read only"

Hello,

Please help. I recently started using scid vs. pc. I downloaded my online games and created one database, then I entered some of my on board games and created a separate database. Today I wanted to start analysis with Stockfish but somehow both databases became "read-only". I cannot annotate any existing game or add a new one. Both databases exist in 2 formats on my computer, as "SI4" and "SN4". What to do?

You probably have some file permissions issue. Maybe you have been accessing them as two users with differing priviledges ?. Have a look at the (3) files .si4 .sn4 and .sg4 in some file manager/ windows explorer and make sure you have write permissions on all of them.

Many thanks Steven. Your post helped me to find the solution - it was permission issue on an antivirus level. All works now after I added Scid to a list of trusted programs. Hope it is safe for my computer.
