i am looking for a chess set that can have moving pieces that teach lessons and connects to chess.com  wifi connections and  has no bugs and breakdowns or cheapie chess pieces that don't work---  like I have heard from countless others here on the forums --- is there a set that really works and feels good -- I won some money playing poker online, and want to treat myself to a chess set  and maybe it will  inspire me to play better chess---so I have about 400 us to spend on this project ( max)-- what do you recommend -- that actually works and  you yourself use --- any help

LOSTATCHESS

???????? What is that about------- is this what trolling is ???

Gonna be honest you’re probably not gonna get that for under $400, you could get a non moving one though
LOSTATCHESS

ok thanks i din't know they where that expensive --- need to save up more i guess or get really lucky what is the best setup then ?

LOSTATCHESS

can you rent these moving chess sets? is that what you are saying where do I look? or are you just trolling as many have said here instead of helping fellow chess player

LOSTATCHESS

is the go Chess set a good deal, discount now till the end of today -- 349 us - so 500 Canadian - does it have a good rep and would you recommend it to use to learn on are there any others that are better for the same price about

you could find a used one on eBay for decently cheap. not sure if they sell refurbished but those sell for cheap too

imagine gambling and spending it on chess board when ur 100 that's like buying 50000 dollar roller skates if you only skate once a month

everyone has their reasons. they want the chess board to help improve their improvement. idk whats wrong with that

thanks for the input about the refurbed games ---- I thought maybe I should get a cheap unit for now, say less 100 dollars and try it out to see if that system of learning will work for me- I could I guess sell back on eBay if it didn't work out or if it did work out and then decided to move up to a 400 dollar plus type unit later on - something to research with I guess ----wish they had a marketplace type thing here on chess..com to buy and sell like most hobby type forums buying form another selling who plays chess seems smart to me

LOSTATCHESS

well its a cheap unit for me -- being the stupid poker player almost as bad at poker as I am at chess, I lost my previous winnings this afternoon so no more 600 dollars to buy an electronic chess set -- maybe 125 dollars- refurbed cheapie model will have to do ---start looking tomorrow too depressed tonight to do anything -- but watch next installment of the white locus tv series, and dream of exotic places, and adventures

StandStarter

maybe when you win big and you want something, set that money aside so you dont spend it all lol
125 refurb is gonna be a pretty tough one, you can also look in places that are like goodwill. might seem like the broken man's route but you can find some pretty neet things in places like those. pawn shops too

LOSTATCHESS

yes you are right , but hind sight isn't my greatest attribute ,that's for sure nor forethought either, -- thought I was going to win big - and lost just as big -- tried goodwill but with so many ebay resellers gleaning the aisles looking for ways to make money on donated free goods ,well there hasn't been much luck there just broken stuff or models not worth the time and effort (cheapie types) well I keep looking on ebay and saving this time for a chess set ---- maybe others could suggest a way to get a set besides the big sites

you can diy it if you spend enough time and effort, but like that's a little ahead of your budget. keep trying on ebay

LOSTATCHESS

ok then thanks

good luck!

You may want to check out Chesshouse.com. They’re running a sale right now and they have some new Millennium computers that would fit your budget if you’re interested in a lower entry price. Though as you’ve probably already learned, you’re not going to get self moving pieces in your budget range.

those are the boards that light up and show where to move the pieces yes?
